<p rend="chapter">21. Paṭipadāñāṇadassanavisuddhiniddesavaṇṇanā</p>

<p rend="subhead">Upakkilesavimuttaudayabbayañāṇakathāvaṇṇanā</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="737"><hi rend="paranum">737</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Vipassanācārassa <pb ed="M" n="2.0435" /><pb ed="V" n="2.0409" /> matthakappattiyā saṅkhārupekkhāñāṇaṃ <hi rend="bold">sikhāppattā vipassanā</hi>. Sikhāppatti panassa udayabbayañāṇādīnaṃ attaṭṭhamānaṃvasena jātāti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘aṭṭhannaṃ pana ñāṇānaṃ vasena sikhāppattā vipassanā’’</hi>ti. Oḷārikoḷārikassa saccapaṭicchādakamohatamassa vigamanena saccappaṭivedhānukūlattā <hi rend="bold">‘‘saccānulomikañāṇa’’</hi>nti anulomañāṇamāha. Tāni pana ñāṇāni sarūpato dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘aṭṭhannanti cā’’</hi>tiādi āraddhaṃ. Tattha udayabbayadassanena saṅkhārānaṃ aniccalakkhaṇaṃ, tadanusārena itaralakkhaṇāni ca vibhāventīyeva udayabbayānupassanā pavattatīti katvā <hi rend="bold">‘‘vīthipaṭipannavipassanāsaṅkhātaṃ udayabbayānupassanāñāṇa’’</hi>nti vuttanti keci. Tayidaṃ tassa sabbaso tīraṇapariññābhāvameva maññamānehi vuttaṃ. Kiñcāpi hi udayabbayañāṇaṃ tīraṇapariññantogadhameva, udayabbayādīnaṃ pana jānanaṭṭhena, paccakkhato dassanaṭṭhena ca ñāṇadassanāni, udayabbayañāṇādīni. Tāniyeva paṭipakkhato visuddhattā ñāṇadassanavisuddhi, sā eva ariyamaggo paṭipajjati etāyāti paṭipadā cāti <hi rend="bold">paṭipadāñāṇadassanavisuddhī</hi>ti vuttaṃ. Taṃ pana uppannamattaṃ appaguṇaṃ sandhāya vuttaṃ. Paguṇañhi niccasaññādipahānasiddhiyā pahānapariññāya adhiṭṭhānabhūtaṃ. Yato tadavigamena aṭṭhārasasu mahāvipassanāsu ekaccā adhigatā eva honti. Na hi udayabbayānaṃ paccakkhato paṭivedhena vinā sāmaññākārānaṃ tīraṇamattena sātisayaṃ paṭipakkhapahānaṃ sambhavati. Asati ca paṭipakkhapahāne kuto ñāṇādīnaṃ vajiramiva avihatavegatā, tikhiṇavisadāditā vā. Tasmā paguṇabhāvappattaṃ udayabbayañāṇaṃ pahānapariññāpakkhiyameva daṭṭhabbaṃ. Sabbasaṅkhārānaṃ bhaṅgasseva anupassanā bhaṅgānupassanā, tadeva ñāṇaṃ <hi rend="bold">bhaṅgānupassanāñāṇaṃ</hi>. Yathābhūtadassāvī bhāyati etasmāti bhayaṃ, tebhūmakadhammā, tesu bhayato upaṭṭhitesu bhāyitabbākāragāhiñāṇaṃ <hi rend="bold">bhayatupaṭṭhānañāṇaṃ</hi>. Muñcituṃ icchatīti muñcitukamyaṃ, cittaṃ, puggalo vā, tassa bhāvo muñcitukamyatā <pb ed="V" n="2.0410" />, tadeva ñāṇaṃ <hi rend="bold">muñcitukamyatāñāṇaṃ</hi>. Puna <pb ed="M" n="2.0436" /> paṭisaṅkhānākārena pavattaṃ ñāṇaṃ <hi rend="bold">paṭisaṅkhānupassanāñāṇaṃ</hi>. Nirapekkhatāya saṅkhārānaṃ upekkhanavasena pavattañāṇaṃ <hi rend="bold">saṅkhārupekkhāñāṇaṃ. Tasmā</hi>ti yasmā upakkilesavimuttaṃ udayabbayañāṇādinavavidhañāṇaṃ paṭipadāñāṇadassanavisuddhi, tasmā.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="738"><hi rend="paranum">738</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">‘‘Upakkilesavimutta’’</hi>nti visesanena vibhāvitamatthaṃ anavabujjhanto codako <hi rend="bold">‘‘puna udayabbayañāṇe yogo kimatthiyo’’</hi>ti pucchati. Tattha <hi rend="bold">kimatthiyo</hi>ti kiṃ payojano niratthako, pageva nibbattitattā pakkassa pacanaṃ viyāti adhippāyo. Atha vā lakkhaṇasallakkhaṇādihetupaṭipāṭiggahaṇavasena tamatthaṃ ñāpetukāmo ācariyova kathetukamyatāvasena <hi rend="bold">‘‘kimatthiyo’’</hi>ti pucchati. <hi rend="bold">Lakkhaṇasallakkhaṇattho</hi>ti aniccādilakkhaṇānaṃ sammadeva upadhāraṇattho. Tattha kāraṇaṃ dassento <hi rend="bold">‘‘udayabbayañāṇaṃ hī’’</hi>tiādimāha. Nanu ca udayabbayañāṇaṃ nāma saṅkhārānaṃ udayabbayameva passati, na aniccādilakkhaṇattayaṃ, tena kathaṃ aniccatādilakkhaṇattayasallakkhaṇaṃ hotīti? Na kho panetaṃ evaṃ daṭṭhabbaṃ ‘‘udayabbayañāṇaṃ lakkhaṇattayavisayaṃ hotī’’ti. Udayabbaye pana paṭividdhe aniccalakkhaṇaṃ pākaṭaṃ hutvā upaṭṭhāti. Tato ‘‘yadaniccaṃ, taṃ dukkhaṃ. Yaṃ dukkhaṃ, tadanattā’’ti (saṃ. ni. 3.15; 45, 77; 4.1, 4; paṭi. ma. 2.10) itaralakkhaṇampi. Atha vā udayabbayaggahaṇena hutvā abhāvākāro, abhiṇhasampaṭipīḷanākāro, avasavattanākāro ca vibhūtataro hotīti kāraṇabhāvena udayabbayañāṇe yogassa lakkhaṇattayasallakkhaṇatthatā veditabbā, na sammukheneva. <hi rend="bold">Heṭṭhā</hi>ti maggāmaggañāṇadassanavisuddhito heṭṭhā. Tañhi obhāsādiuppattihetutāya tikkhaṃ visadaṃ hutvā pavattampi diṭṭhiādīhi upakkiliṭṭhattā kuṇṭhaṃ avisadameva jātaṃ. Tenāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘dasahi…pe… nāsakkhī’’</hi>ti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="739"><hi rend="paranum">739</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Amanasikārā</hi>ti hetumhi nissakkavacanaṃ. <hi rend="bold">‘‘Kissa amanasikārā’’</hi>ti hi idaṃ ‘‘kena paṭicchannattā’’ti pucchitassa paṭicchādakassa hetupucchā. Santatiyā hissa paṭicchannattā aniccalakkhaṇaṃ na upaṭṭhāti, sā ca santati udayabbayāmanasikārena paṭicchādikā jātā. Iriyāpathehi paṭicchannattā dukkhalakkhaṇaṃ na upaṭṭhāti, te ca iriyāpathā abhiṇhasampaṭipīḷanāmanasikārena paṭicchādakā jātā. Ghanena paṭicchannattā anattalakkhaṇaṃ <pb ed="M" n="2.0437" /> na upaṭṭhāti, te ca ghanā nānādhātuvinibbhogāmanasikārena paṭicchādakā jātāti. Udayabbayaṃ passato <pb ed="V" n="2.0411" /> na udayāvatthā vayāvatthaṃ pāpuṇāti, vayāvatthā vā udayāvatthaṃ. Aññova udayakkhaṇo, aññova vayakkhaṇoti ekopi dhammo khaṇavasena bhedato upaṭṭhāti, pageva atītādikoti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘udayabbayaṃ pana…pe… upaṭṭhātī’’</hi>ti. Tattha <hi rend="bold">santatiyā vikopitāyā</hi>ti pubbāpariyena pavattamānānaṃ dhammānaṃ aññoññabhāvasallakkhaṇena santatiyā ugghāṭitāya. Na hi sammadeva udayabbayaṃ sallakkhentassa dhammā sambandhabhāvena upaṭṭhahanti, atha kho ayosalākā viya asambandhabhāvenāti suṭṭhutaraṃ aniccalakkhaṇaṃ pākaṭaṃ hoti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Abhiṇhasampaṭipīḷanaṃ manasi katvā</hi>ti yathāpariggahitaudayabbayavasena saṅkhārānaṃ nirantaraṃ paṭipīḷiyamānataṃ vibādhiyamānataṃ manasi karitvā. <hi rend="bold">Iriyāpathe ugghāṭite</hi>ti iriyāpathe labbhamānadukkhapaṭicchādakabhāve ugghāṭite. Ekasmiñhi iriyāpathe uppannassa dukkhassa vinodakaṃ iriyāpathantaraṃ tassa paṭicchādakaṃ viya hoti, evaṃ sesāpīti iriyāpathānaṃ taṃtaṃdukkhapaṭicchādakabhāve yāthāvato ñāte tesaṃ dukkhapaṭicchādakabhāvo ugghāṭito nāma hoti saṅkhārānaṃ nirantaraṃ dukkhābhitunnatāya pākaṭabhāvato. Tenāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘dukkhalakkhaṇaṃ yāthāvasarasato upaṭṭhātī’’</hi>ti. <hi rend="bold">Nānādhātuyo</hi>ti nānāvidhā pathavīādidhātuyo nānāvidhe sabhāvadhamme. <hi rend="bold">Vinibbhujitvā</hi>ti ‘‘aññā pathavīdhātu, aññā āpodhātū’’tiādinā, ‘‘añño phasso, aññā vedanā’’tiādinā ca visuṃ visuṃ katvā. <hi rend="bold">Ghanavinibbhoge kate</hi>ti samūhaghane, kiccārammaṇaghane ca pabhedite. Yā hesā aññamaññūpatthaddhesu samuditesu rūpārūpadhammesu ekattābhinivesavasena aparimadditasaṅkhārehi gayhamānā <hi rend="bold">samūhaghanatā,</hi> tathā tesaṃ tesaṃ dhammānaṃ kiccabhedassa satipi paṭiniyatabhāve ekato gayhamānā <hi rend="bold">kiccaghanatā,</hi> tathā sārammaṇadhammānaṃ satipi ārammaṇakaraṇabhede ekato gayhamānā <hi rend="bold">ārammaṇaghanatā</hi> ca, tā dhātūsu ñāṇena vinibbhujitvā dissamānā hatthena parimajjiyamāno pheṇapiṇḍo viya vilayaṃ gacchanti, ‘‘yathāpaccayaṃ pavattamānā suññā ete dhammā dhammamattā’’ti anattalakkhaṇaṃ pākaṭataraṃ hoti. Tena vuttaṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘nānādhātuyo…pe… upaṭṭhātī’’</hi>ti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="740"><hi rend="paranum">740</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Dhuvabhāvapaṭikkhepato <pb ed="M" n="2.0438" /> na niccanti <hi rend="bold">aniccaṃ,</hi> khandhapañcakaṃ. Yathāha ‘‘rūpaṃ kho, rādha, aniccaṃ, vedanā… saññā… saṅkhārā… viññāṇaṃ anicca’’nti (saṃ. ni. 3.172). Tattha kāraṇaṃ vadanto <hi rend="bold">‘‘uppādavayaññathattabhāvā’’</hi>ti āha. <hi rend="bold">Uppādo</hi> nibbattilakkhaṇaṃ, <hi rend="bold">vayo</hi> vipariṇāmalakkhaṇaṃ, <hi rend="bold">aññathattaṃ</hi> jarā, tesaṃ sabbhāvatoti attho. <hi rend="bold">Hutvā abhāvato</hi>ti <pb ed="V" n="2.0412" /> uppajjitvā vinassanato. Ettha ca purimena jātijarāmaraṇasabbhāvato <hi rend="bold">anicca</hi>nti dasseti, dutiyena pākabhāvaviddhaṃsābhāvato. Yassa bhāvena khandhapañcakaṃ ‘‘anicca’’nti vuccati, taṃ aniccalakkhaṇanti dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘uppādavayaññathatta’’</hi>ntiādi vuttaṃ. Tena hi taṃ ‘‘anicca’’nti lakkhīyati. <hi rend="bold">Ākāravikāro</hi>ti ākāravikati. Abhāvākāro hi vikatirūpena labbhati, virūpattā na uppādākāro. <hi rend="bold">Ākāravikāro</hi>ti vā ākāraviseso. Hutvā abhāvo hi pākabhāvato bhinno viddhaṃsābhāvattā tattha ca aniccalakkhaṇaṃ niruḷhaṃ. Aniccākāro hi dukkhānattākārehi viya uppādākārato ca visiṭṭho. Tathā hi saddassa viddhaṃsābhāvo saṅkhatabhāvenapi sādhīyati.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Saṅkhatabhāvo</hi> ca atthato uppādavantatā. <hi rend="bold">Uppādo</hi> ca pākabhāvasādhitā dharamānāvatthā. Iminā nayena dukkhānattālakkhaṇāni veditabbāni. Apica yathā niccapaṭikkhepato aniccanti niccākārapaṭikkhepato yathāvutto abhāvākārasaṅkhāto aniccākāro <hi rend="bold">aniccalakkhaṇaṃ,</hi> evaṃ sukhapaṭikkhepato dukkhanti sukhākārapaṭikkhepato abhiṇhapaṭipīḷanākārasaṅkhāto dukkhākāro <hi rend="bold">dukkhalakkhaṇaṃ,</hi> tathā attapaṭikkhepato anattāti attākārapaṭikkhepato avasavattanākārasaṅkhāto anattākāro <hi rend="bold">anattalakkhaṇa</hi>nti daṭṭhabbaṃ. Te yime tayopi ākārā asabhāvadhammattā khandhapariyāpannā na honti. Khandhehi vinā anupalabbhanīyato khandhavinimuttāpi na honti. Khandhe pana upādāya vohāravasena labbhamānā tadādīnavavibhāvanāya visesakāraṇabhūtā tajjāpaññattivisesāti veditabbā.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Tayidaṃ sabbampī</hi>ti yathāvuttalakkhaṇattayañceva lakkhitabbañca khandhapañcakaṃ. <hi rend="bold">‘‘Udayabbayānupassanāñāṇena yāthāvasarasato sallakkhetī’’</hi>ti idaṃ tadatthe tabbohāravasena vuttaṃ. Udayabbayañāṇatthañhi lakkhaṇārammaṇikavipassanā ‘‘udayabbayañāṇa’’nti kathitā. Na hi udayabbayañāṇaṃ dukkhalakkhaṇādivisayaṃ <pb ed="M" n="2.0439" />. Tabbisayatte vā udayabbayañāṇameva na siyā, udayabbayañāṇaṃ pana tikkhaṃ, visadañca kātukāmena lakkhaṇattayatīraṇameva kātabbaṃ. Parikammasadisañhetaṃ tassa. Esa nayo sesañāṇesupīti.</p>

<p rend="subhead">Bhaṅgānupassanāñāṇakathāvaṇṇanā</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="741"><hi rend="paranum">741</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Vahatī</hi>ti <pb ed="V" n="2.0413" /> pavattati. Ñāṇassa tikkhabhāvo bhāvanāya paguṇabhāvena. Paguṇā ca bhāvanā vikkhepābhāvato ārammaṇe appitā viya pavattatīti ñāṇassa tikkhabhāvena saṅkhārānaṃ lahuupaṭṭhānatā dassitā. <hi rend="bold">Saṅkhāresu</hi> pana udayabbayavasena <hi rend="bold">lahuṃ lahuṃ upaṭṭhahantesu</hi> udayadassanañca ‘‘uppādavato vināso’’ti yāvadeva vayadassanatthaṃ tassa nibbidāvahattāti vaye evassa ābhogasamannāhāro manasikāro pavattati, tena uppādādiṃ muñcitvā vayamevārabbha ñāṇaṃ uppajjati. Tena vuttaṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘uppādaṃ vā’’</hi>tiādi. Tattha <hi rend="bold">uppāda</hi>nti nibbattivikāraṃ. <hi rend="bold">Ṭhiti</hi>nti ṭhitippattaṃ, jaranti attho. <hi rend="bold">Pavatta</hi>nti upādinnakappavattaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Nimitta</hi>nti saṅkhāranimittaṃ. Yaṃ saṅkhārānaṃ samudayādighanavasena, sakiccaparicchedatāya ca saviggahānaṃ viya upaṭṭhānaṃ, taṃ saṅkhāranimittaṃ. Keci pana <hi rend="bold">‘‘pavattaṃ</hi> nāma saṅkhārānaṃ avicchedena pavattanaṃ uppādova, <hi rend="bold">nimittaṃ</hi> nāma uppannānaṃ vijjamānatā ṭhānaparamparā, tasmā uppādameva gaṇhāti ce, pavattaṃ gaṇhāti nāma. Ṭhitiṃyeva gaṇhāti ce, nimittaṃ gaṇhāti nāmā’’ti vadanti, taṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘uppādaṃ vā’’</hi>tiādivacanena virujjhati. Na hi asati bhede vikappo yutto. <hi rend="bold">Na sampāpuṇāti</hi> aggahaṇato. Kiṃ pana sampāpuṇātīti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘khaya…pe… santiṭṭhatī’’</hi>ti. Tattha <hi rend="bold">nirodha</hi>saddo anuppādepi dissatīti bhedasaddena visesitaṃ, <hi rend="bold">bheda</hi>saddo visesavācakopi hotīti vayasaddena visesitaṃ, sopi anirodhavācakopi atthīti khayasaddena visesitaṃ, khayavayabhedasaṅkhāte khaṇikanirodheti attho. <hi rend="bold">Sati santiṭṭhatī</hi>ti satisīsena ñāṇamāha. <hi rend="bold">Etasmiṃ ṭhāne</hi>ti upakkilesavinimuttassa udayabbayañāṇassa tikkhabhāvāpattiyaṃ vuttanayena udayampi muñcitvā vayasseva manasikārakāle.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Ārammaṇapaṭisaṅkhā</hi>ti rūpavedanādiārammaṇaṃ khayavayavaseneva paṭisaṅkhāya. Yakāralopena hi niddeso ‘‘sayaṃ abhiññā’’tiādīsu (dī. ni. 1.28, 405) viya. Yathāvuttassa <pb ed="M" n="2.0440" /> vā ārammaṇassa khayavayabhedavasena paṭisaṅkhā <hi rend="bold">ārammaṇapaṭisaṅkhā. Bhaṅgānupassane</hi>ti yo tadārammaṇassa cittassa bhaṅgo, tassa anupassane. <hi rend="bold">Paññā</hi>ti pakārato jānanā. Yaṃ panettha vattabbaṃ, taṃ idāneva saṃvaṇṇīyati.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="742"><hi rend="paranum">742</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Yaṃ kiñci ārammaṇa</hi>nti rūpaṃ yāva jarāmaraṇanti vipassitabbabhāvena gahitaṃ sabbaṃ saṅkhāragatamāha <pb ed="V" n="2.0414" />. Paṭisaṅkhānaṃ nāma jānanaṃ, tañca bhaṅgānupassanāya adhippetattā bhaṅgato dassanamevāti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘jānitvā khayato vayato disvāti attho’’</hi>ti. Tassa ñāṇassāti sambandho.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Rūpārammaṇameva <hi rend="bold">rūpārammaṇatā</hi> yathā ‘‘devo eva devatā’’ti imamatthaṃ dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘rūpārammaṇaṃ citta’’</hi>nti vuttaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Rūpārammaṇatā</hi>ti vā bhummatthe paccattavacananti dassento <hi rend="bold">‘‘atha vā rūpārammaṇabhāve’’</hi>ti āha. <hi rend="bold">Aparena cittena bhaṅgaṃ anupassatī</hi>ti vipassanāvisayaṃ bhaṅgānupassanamāha. Evañhi bhaṅgānupassanā paguṇā hoti, ārammaṇañcassa vibhūtataraṃ hutvā upaṭṭhāti. <hi rend="bold">Ñāta</hi>nti ārammaṇamāha anupassanāvasena ñātattā. <hi rend="bold">Ñāṇa</hi>nti anupassanāñāṇaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Ubhopi vipassatī</hi>ti tadubhayampi khayato vayato vipassatīti. Ayaṃ hettha saṅkhepattho – rūpassa yāva jarāmaraṇassa khayato vayato dassanaṃ ārammaṇapaṭisaṅkhātaṃ, dassanakañāṇassa khayato vayato dassanaṃ ārammaṇapaṭisaṅkhāya bhaṅgassa anupassananti ubhayattha paññā. Purimaṃ vā tadabhāve abhāvato pacchimāyaṃ pakkhipitvā pacchimā eva paññā vipassane ñāṇanti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Etthā</hi>ti ‘‘tassa cittassa…pe… bhaṅgaṃ anupassatī’’ti ettha. <hi rend="bold">Anekehi ākārehī</hi>ti aniccato anupassanādīhi anekehi ākārehi. <hi rend="bold">Anu</hi>-saddo ‘‘bhiyyo’’ti etasmiṃ attheti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘punappunaṃ passatī’’</hi>ti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Idha saṅkhatadhammo nāma jātijarāmaraṇapakatiko, tassa jāti ādikoṭi, jarā majjhimakoṭi, maraṇaṃ osānakoṭi. Tattha kiñcāpi uppādāditividhampi saṅkhatalakkhaṇatāya aniccalakkhaṇaṃ, tathāpi jātijarāsu diṭṭhāsu na tathā aniccalakkhaṇaṃ pākaṭaṃ hutvā upaṭṭhāti yathā vayakkhaṇeti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘bhaṅgo nāma aniccatāya paramā koṭī’’</hi>ti, uttamā koṭi <pb ed="M" n="2.0441" /> pariyosānakoṭīti attho. Yathā hi jarādhammaṃ, maraṇadhammameva ca jāyatīti <hi rend="bold">jāti</hi> aniccatāya ādi koṭi, tathā jātidhammaṃ, maraṇadhammameva ca jīratīti <hi rend="bold">jarā</hi> majjhimā koṭi, jātidhammaṃ, jarādhammameva ca bhijjatīti <hi rend="bold">bhaṅgo</hi> paramā koṭīti. <hi rend="bold">Aniccato anupassatī</hi>ti na kalāpato sammasanto viya ‘‘aniccaṃ khayaṭṭhenā’’ti (paṭi. ma. 1.48) anumānavasena, nāpi āraddhavipassako viya udayaggahaṇapubbakavayadassanavasena, atha kho udayabbayañāṇānubhāvena paccakkhato upaṭṭhitesu udayavayesu vuttanayena udayaṃ muñcitvā bhaṅgadassanavaseneva aniccato anupassati, evaṃ anupassato panassa niccagāhassa lesopi natthīti <pb ed="V" n="2.0415" /> āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘no niccato’’</hi>ti. Tathā hesa niccasaññaṃ pajahatīti vuccati. Ettha ca ‘‘aniccato eva anupassatī’’ti eva-kāro luttaniddiṭṭhoti tena nivattitamatthaṃ dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘no niccato’’</hi>ti vuttaṃ. Na cettha dukkhato anupassanādinivattanamāsaṅkitabbaṃ paṭiyogīnivattanaparattā, eva-kārassa upari desanāruḷhattā ca tāsaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Dukkhato anupassatī</hi>tiādīsupi eseva nayo.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Aniccato tāva anupassanā bhaṅgānupassakassa yuttā ‘‘bhaṅgo nāma aniccatāya paramā koṭī’’ti, dukkhādito pana kathanti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘aniccassa dukkhattā’’</hi>tiādi. Etena yaṃ aniccaṃ, taṃ ekantato dukkhaṃ anattā, tato ca na abhinandaniyādirūpaṃ. Tasmā upari nibbattetabbato ñāṇaparikammatthañca itarāsampi channaṃ anupassanānaṃ vasena anupassatīti dasseti. Keci panettha <hi rend="bold">‘‘aniccato anupassati, no niccato</hi>tiādinā visuṃ dassanakiccaṃ natthi, bhaṅgadassaneneva sabbaṃ diṭṭhaṃ hotī’’ti vadanti, taṃ bhaṅgānupassanāya matthakappattiyaṃ yuttaṃ, tato pana pubbabhāge anekākāravokārā anupassanā icchitabbāva. Aññathā ‘‘aniccato anupassatī’’tiādikā (paṭi. ma. 1.51) pāḷi, ‘‘anekehi ākārehi punappunaṃ passatī’’ti āgatā tassā aṭṭhakathā ca virodhitā siyā. <hi rend="bold">Tadeva</hi> aniccato diṭṭhameva sabbasaṅkhāragataṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Na taṃ abhinanditabba</hi>nti taṃ saṅkhāragataṃ taṇhādiṭṭhābhinandanavasena ‘‘etaṃ mama, eso me attā’’ti na abhinanditabbaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Na tattha rañjitabba</hi>nti tattha saṅkhāragate rañjanavasena na pavattitabbaṃ, kāmarāgo, bhavarāgo vā na pavattetabboti <pb ed="M" n="2.0442" /> attho. <hi rend="bold">Rāgaṃ nirodhetī</hi>ti rāgaṃ vikkhambhananirodhaṃ pāpeti, vikkhambhetīti attho. Tenāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘lokikeneva tāva ñāṇenā’’</hi>ti. Sati ca vikkhambhane kathaṃ samudayoti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘no samudeti, samudayaṃ na karotī’’</hi>ti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Evaṃ viratto</hi>ti evaṃ bhaṅgānupassanānusārena viratto. Yathā diṭṭhaṃ sampati upaṭṭhitaṃ saṅkhāragataṃ nirodheti nirodhaṃ manasi karoti, adiṭṭhampi atītānāgataṃ anvayañāṇavasena yathā idaṃ etarahi, evaṃ itarepīti anuminanto nirodheti manasikatassāpi nirodhaṃ karoti. <hi rend="bold">No samudetī</hi>ti etthāpi eseva nayo, no samudayaṃ manasi karotīti attho.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Evaṃ paṭipanno</hi>ti evaṃ vuttappakārena aniccānupassanādivasena paṭipanno. <hi rend="bold">Saddhiṃ khandhābhisaṅkhārehi</hi><pb ed="V" n="2.0416" /><hi rend="bold">kilesānaṃ pariccajanato</hi>ti khandhehi, abhisaṅkhārehi ca saha kilesānaṃ pajahanato. Kilese hi pajahanto tannimittakakammaṃ, tato nibbattanake khandhe ca pajahati nāma. <hi rend="bold">Saṅkhatadosadassanenā</hi>ti saṅkhatadhammesu aniccadukkhatādiādīnavadassanena. <hi rend="bold">Tabbiparīte</hi>ti niccasukhādisabhāve. <hi rend="bold">Tanninnatāyā</hi>ti tadadhimuttatāya. <hi rend="bold">Paṭinissagga</hi>saddo pariccāgattho, pakkhandanattho cāti paṭinissaggassa duvidhatā vuttā. Tattha <hi rend="bold">pakkhandanaṃ</hi> adhimuccanaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Yathāvuttenā</hi>ti tadaṅgādippahānappakārena, tanninnappakārena ca. <hi rend="bold">Nibbattanavasenā</hi>ti uppādanavasena. Nibbattento hi kilese ādiyatīti te anibbattento kilese na ādiyati nāma. <hi rend="bold">Adosadassitāvasenā</hi>ti dosānaṃ adassāvibhāvena. Saṅkhatārammaṇaṃ ādiyatīti yojanā. Anādīnavadassitāya hi saṅkhāre ādiyatīti ādīnavadassitāya te na ādiyati na gaṇhāti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="743"><hi rend="paranum">743</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Assā</hi>ti yogino. <hi rend="bold">Tehi ñāṇehī</hi>ti aniccānupassanādiñāṇehi. <hi rend="bold">Ta</hi>nti pahānaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Niccasañña</hi>nti niccagāhaṃ, saññāsīsena niddeso. <hi rend="bold">Sukhasaññaṃ attasañña</hi>nti etthāpi eseva nayo. <hi rend="bold">Sappītikaṃ taṇha</hi>nti sauppilāvitaṃ abhipatthanaṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="744"><hi rend="paranum">744</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">‘‘Vatthusaṅkamanā’’</hi>ti ettha vipassanāya pavattiṭṭhānabhāvato rūpādiārammaṇaṃ ‘‘vatthū’’ti adhippetanti dassento <hi rend="bold">‘‘rūpassā’’</hi>tiādimāha. Tattha <hi rend="bold">saṅkamanā</hi>ti vipassanābhāvasāmaññato ekattanayena vuttaṃ <pb ed="M" n="2.0443" />, aññathā aññadeva rūpabhaṅgavisayaṃ ñāṇaṃ, aññadeva tadārammaṇacittabhaṅgavisayanti kuto saṅkamanā. Paññāvivaṭṭanāyapi eseva nayo. <hi rend="bold">Paññāyā</hi>ti udayabbayadassanavasena pavattamānāya vipassanāpaññāya. Vayasseva gahaṇavasena udayato vinivaṭṭanā. Tenāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘udayaṃ pahāya vaye santiṭṭhanā’’</hi>ti. <hi rend="bold">‘‘Anantarameva āvajjanasamatthatā’’</hi>ti iminā bhaṅgānupassanāya paguṇabalavabhāvamāha.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="745"><hi rend="paranum">745</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Ubho</hi>ti diṭṭhādiṭṭhabhāvena dvepi ārammaṇāni. <hi rend="bold">Ekavavatthanā</hi>ti khaṇabhaṅguratāya samānāti vavatthāpanā.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Saṃvijjamānamhī</hi>ti paccakkhato upalabbhamāne paccuppanne. <hi rend="bold">Visuddhadassano</hi>ti bhaṅgadassanassa paribandhavidhamanena visuddhañāṇo, suvisuddhabhaṅgadassanoti attho. <hi rend="bold">Tadanvayaṃ netī</hi>ti tassa paccuppannasaṅkhārabhaṅgadassino ñāṇassa anvayaṃ anugatabhūtaṃ ñāṇaṃ pavatteti. Kattha pana pavattetīti <pb ed="V" n="2.0417" /> āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘atītanāgate’’</hi>ti, atīte, anāgate ca saṅkhāragate. <hi rend="bold">Sabbepī</hi>tiādi tassa pavattanākāradassanaṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Bhaṅgasaṅkhāte nirodhe,</hi> na nibbānasaṅkhāteti adhippāyo. <hi rend="bold">Esā</hi>ti yā ārammaṇanvayena ubho diṭṭhādiṭṭhe khaṇabhaṅguratāya ekabhāvena vavatthāpanā, esā vayalakkhaṇe vipariṇāmalakkhaṇe <hi rend="bold">vipassanā</hi> bhaṅgānupassanāti attho.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="746"><hi rend="paranum">746</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Ārammaṇañca paṭisaṅkhā</hi>tiādi bhaṅgānupassanāya duppaṭivijjhattā vuttassevatthassa daḷhīkaraṇaṃ. Tayidaṃ bhaṅgadassanaṃ saṅkhārānaṃ avasavattanāvabodhanena anattalakkhaṇapaṭivedhāyāti taṃ dassento <hi rend="bold">‘‘suññato ca upaṭṭhāna’’</hi>nti āha. Ārammaṇassa hi bhaṅgārammaṇacittassa ca bhaṅgamanupassato visesato saṅkhārā suññā hutvā upaṭṭhahanti. Tenāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘tasseva’’</hi>ntiādi.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Na catthi añño</hi>ti ettha imasmiṃ loke añño khandhavinimutto attā nāma koci natthi. <hi rend="bold">Tesaṃ khayaṃ passatī</hi>ti tesaṃ dhammānaṃ khaṇe khaṇe upaṭṭhahantaṃ bhaṅgaṃ passati. Yathāvuttāya appamādapaṭipattiyā <hi rend="bold">appamatto</hi>. Yathā kiṃ? <hi rend="bold">Maṇiṃva vijjhaṃ vajirena yoniso</hi> yathā nāma kusalo puriso upāyena maṇiṃ vijjhanto maṇissa chiddameva passati manasi karoti <pb ed="M" n="2.0444" />, na maṇissa vaṇṇādiṃ, evameva saṅkhārānaṃ nirantaraṃ bhaṅgameva yoniso manasi karoti, na saṅkhāreti adhippāyo. Yathā vā vajirena maṇiṃ vijjhantassa viddhaṭṭhānaṃ na puna ruhati, evaṃ vajirasadisena bhaṅgānupassanāñāṇena bhaṅge diṭṭhe na puna niccagāho ruhati, evaṃ bhaṅgameva passatīti attho.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Yā ca ārammaṇapaṭisaṅkhā</hi>ti ‘‘rūpārammaṇatā cittaṃ uppajjitvā bhijjati, taṃ ārammaṇaṃ paṭisaṅkhā’’ti (paṭi. ma. 1.51) evamāgatā yā ca ārammaṇapaṭisaṅkhā, ‘‘tassa cittassa bhaṅgaṃ anupassatī’’ti evaṃ vuttā <hi rend="bold">yā ca bhaṅgānupassanā,</hi> ‘‘saṅkhārāva bhijjanti, tesaṃ bhedo maraṇaṃ, na añño koci atthī’’ti evaṃ vuttaṃ <hi rend="bold">yañca suññato upaṭṭhānaṃ,</hi> ayaṃ evaṃ tidhā vuttāpi <hi rend="bold">adhipaññāvipassanā nāmā</hi>ti attho.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="747"><hi rend="paranum">747</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Aniccānupassanādīsū</hi>ti aniccadukkhānattānupassanāsu. <hi rend="bold">Nibbidādīsū</hi>ti nibbidāvirāganirodhapaṭinissaggānupassanāsu <pb ed="V" n="2.0418" />. <hi rend="bold">Tayo upaṭṭhāne</hi>ti aniccādivasena tividhe upaṭṭhāne. Khayato vayato upaṭṭhānañhi aniccato upaṭṭhānaṃ, bhayato upaṭṭhānaṃ dukkhato, suññato upaṭṭhānaṃ anattatoti. <hi rend="bold">Diṭṭhīsū</hi>ti diṭṭhinimittaṃ <hi rend="bold">na vedhati</hi>. Tā hi asaṃhīratāya na calati.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="748"><hi rend="paranum">748</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Dubbalabhājanassa viyā</hi>ti tintaāmamattikābhājanassa viya bhedameva passatīti sambandho. Ettha ca <hi rend="bold">dubbalabhājanūpamā</hi> sarasabhiduratādassanatthaṃ, <hi rend="bold">vippakiriyamānasukhumarajūpamā</hi> aññamaññaṃ asambandhatādassanatthaṃ, <hi rend="bold">bhijjiyamānatilūpamā</hi> khaṇe khaṇe bhijjanakabhāvadassanatthanti daṭṭhabbā. <hi rend="bold">Bhedamevā</hi>ti vināsameva <hi rend="bold">passati</hi> uppādādīnaṃ aggahaṇato. <hi rend="bold">Evamevā</hi>ti yathā udakabubbuḷakāni udakatalādipaccayaṃ paṭicca uppannāni na ciraṭṭhitikāni sīghaṃ sīghaṃ bhijjanti, evameva sabbe rūpārūpadhammā kammādipaccayaṃ paṭicca uppannā khaṇaṭṭhitikā sīghaṃ sīghaṃ bhijjantīti bhedameva passati. Turitaturitañhi nesaṃ bhedadassanatthaṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘bhijjanti bhijjantī’’</hi>ti āmeḍitavacanaṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Marīcipi ittarakālikāva, nissayapabandhavasena pana ciratarupaṭṭhānanti <hi rend="bold">‘‘yathā passe marīcika’’</hi>nti vuttaṃ, na ayāthāvupaṭṭhānatova. <hi rend="bold">Loka</hi>nti khandhalokaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Maccurājā na passati</hi> arahattādhigamena punabbhavābhāvato.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="749"><hi rend="paranum">749</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Bhavadiṭṭhippahāna</hi>nti <pb ed="M" n="2.0445" /> sassatadiṭṭhiyā vikkhambhanaṃ. Na hi nirantaraṃ bhaṅgameva passato sassatadiṭṭhiyā avasaro atthi. Tato eva jīvite nirālayattā <hi rend="bold">jīvitanikantipariccāgo. Sadā</hi>ti sabbakālaṃ rattindivaṃ. Bhāvanāya <hi rend="bold">yuttappayuttatā</hi>. Icchācārānaṃ dūrībhāvato <hi rend="bold">visuddhājīvitā. Ussukkappahānaṃ</hi> kiccākiccesu abyāvaṭatā tibbasaṃvegattā. <hi rend="bold">Vigatabhayatā</hi> kutocipi nibbhayatā attasinehābhāvato. <hi rend="bold">Khantisoraccapaṭilābho</hi> aniccatāya sudiṭṭhattā. Pantasenāsanesu adhikusalesu ca aratiyā, kāmaguṇesu ratiyā ca sahanato abhibhavanato <hi rend="bold">aratiratisahanatā</hi>.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Imāni aṭṭhagguṇamuttamānī</hi>ti liṅgavipallāsena vuttaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Ma</hi>-kāro ca padasandhikaro, bhavadiṭṭhippahānādike ime aṭṭha uttamānisaṃseti attho. <hi rend="bold">Tahi</hi>nti tattha bhaṅgānupassanāyanti attho.</p>

<p rend="subhead">Bhayatupaṭṭhānañāṇakathāvaṇṇanā</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="750"><hi rend="paranum">750</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Sabbasaṅkhārāna</hi>nti <pb ed="V" n="2.0419" /> tebhūmakānaṃ sabbasaṅkhārānaṃ. Adhikāravasena hi padesasabbavisayo idha <hi rend="bold">sabba</hi>saddo. <hi rend="bold">Āsevantassā</hi>ti ādaravasena sevantassa pavattentassa. <hi rend="bold">Bhāventassā</hi>ti vaḍḍhentassa brūhentassa. <hi rend="bold">Bahulīkarontassā</hi>ti punappunaṃ karontassa yuñjantassa. <hi rend="bold">Pabhedakā</hi>ti khaṇe khaṇe bhijjanavasena pabhedakā. Ājīvikā byādhiādinimittaṃ maritukāmassa, amaritukāmassāpi sūrassa bhāyitabbampi na bhayato upaṭṭhātīti <hi rend="bold">‘‘sukhena jīvitukāmassa bhīrukapurisassā’’</hi>ti vuttaṃ. Yathā bhīrukajātikassa sīhādayo santāsanimittaṃ bhayānakabhāvato, tathā yogino bhaṅgato dissamānā saṅkhārāti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘sīha…pe… upaṭṭhahantī’’</hi>ti. <hi rend="bold">Paccuppannā</hi>ti addhāpaccuppannā oḷārikā dīghatarapabandhā, khaṇapaccuppannā sukhumatarā ittarakālā, santatipaccuppannā majjhimā idha ādito pariggahetabbā. Bhayato bhāyitabbato upatiṭṭhanakesu ñāṇaṃ <hi rend="bold">bhayatupaṭṭhānañāṇaṃ</hi>.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Yathā <pb ed="M" n="2.0446" /> itthiyā puttānaṃ sīsassa chinnatā chijjamānatā gayhamānā bhayāvahā, evaṃ yogino tiyaddhagatānaṃ saṅkhārānaṃ nirodhā gayhamānāti imamatthaṃ dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘ekissā kira itthiyā’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Yathā pūtibhūtaṃ odanādi na sabhāvena tiṭṭhati vinassati, evaṃ yassā itthiyā vijātavijātā puttā na jīvanti maranti eva, sā <hi rend="bold">‘‘pūtipajā’’</hi>ti vuttā. Pūtipajāggahaṇañcettha visesato gabbhagatamaraṇacintādassanena yogino anāgatasaṅkhāranirodhasanniṭṭhānadassanatthaṃ. Atītapaccuppannasaṅkhāranirodho hissa supākaṭo evāti na so upamāya sādhetabbo. Antimabhavikassa ca yogino sattakkhattuṃ paramādibhāvino atīte dukkhabahutāya, anāgatadukkhaparittatāya ca dassanatthaṃ bahupajāva itthī nidassitā.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Tattha yathā tassā nava puttā matā, evaṃ ajjhattādippabhedā atītā saṅkhārā, vusitapubbā vā nava sattāvāsā daṭṭhabbā, mīyamānaputto viya paccuppannā saṅkhārā, pavattamāno vā sattāvāso daṭṭhabbo. Ajātaputto viya anāgatā saṅkhārā, bhāvī vā sattāvāso daṭṭhabbo. Evamavaṭṭhite yadeke dasaputtamātaraṃ aggahetvā navaputtamātuggahaṇaṃ sātthakanti vadanti, tadapāhataṃ hoti <pb ed="V" n="2.0420" />. Dārakānaṃ maraṇassa cirakālikattā <hi rend="bold">maraṇānussaraṇa</hi>nti vuttaṃ. Gabbhagato appaccakkhatāya bhāvīpakkheyeva tiṭṭhatīti adhippāyena kucchigato anāgatasaṅkhāraṭṭhāniyo vutto. <hi rend="bold">Etasmiṃ khaṇe</hi>ti bhaṅgadassanamukhena saṅkhārānaṃ bhayānakabhāvena upaṭṭhānakkhaṇe.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="751"><hi rend="paranum">751</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Na bhāyati</hi> ñāṇassa bhāyanākārena appavattanato. Paṭighacittuppādavasena hi bhāyanaṃ, ñāṇaṃ pana bhāyitabbavatthuṃ bhāyitabbanti yāthāvato jānāti. Tenāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘atītā…pe… tīraṇamattamevā’’</hi>ti, tisso aṅgārakāsuyo atitāpena tikkhamajjhamudubhedāti adhippāyo. Kāmabhavādīnañhi tiṇṇaṃ bhavānaṃ nidassanabhāvena tāsaṃ gahaṇaṃ, tathā khadirādisūlattayassa appaṇītādibhāvato. Tenāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘kevalaṃ hī’’</hi>tiādi. <hi rend="bold">Assā</hi>ti ñāṇassa. <hi rend="bold">Byasanāpannā</hi>ti nānāvidhavipulānatthapatitā. <hi rend="bold">Bhayato</hi>ti bhāyitabbato.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Saṅkhāranimitta</hi>nti <pb ed="M" n="2.0447" /> ‘‘saṅkhārānaṃ samūhādighanavasena, sakiccaparicchedatāya ca saviggahānaṃ viya upaṭṭhāna’’nti vuttovāyamattho. Saṅkhārānaṃ pana tathā upaṭṭhānaṃ saṅkhāravinimuttaṃ na hotīti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘atītā…pe… adhivacana’’</hi>nti. <hi rend="bold">Maraṇamevā</hi>ti bhaṅgameva. <hi rend="bold">Tenā</hi>ti bhaṅgadassanena. Khaṇe khaṇe bhaṅgameva passato hi nimittasaññitaṃ saṅkhāragataṃ aniccatāya vuttanayena sappaṭibhayaṃ hutvā upaṭṭhāti. Pavattaṃ nāma kāmaṃ sabbā bhavapavatti, matthakappattāya pana bhaṅgānupassanāya sabbabhavesu abhiṇhasampaṭipīḷanassa suṭṭhutaraṃ upaṭṭhānato santasukhābhimatāpi bhavā dukkhasabhāvatāya bhayato upaṭṭhahantīti dassanatthaṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘pavattanti rūpārūpabhavapavattī’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Ubhaya</hi>nti nimittaṃ, pavattañca. Dvayampi hi taṃ attasuññameva hutvā upaṭṭhahatīti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="752"><hi rend="paranum">752</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Tāṇa</hi>nti saṅkhārahetukā anattato rakkhaṇaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Neva paññāyati</hi> sabbabhavādīnaṃ sādīnavatāya ekasadisattā. <hi rend="bold">Leṇa</hi>nti tassa pariharaṇatāṇāya upalīyanaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Gatī</hi>ti tadatthaṃ gantabbaṭṭhānaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Paṭisaraṇa</hi>nti tasseva paṭisaraṇaṭṭhānaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Patthanā</hi>ti āsīsanā na hoti. Etena ‘‘netaṃ <pb ed="V" n="2.0421" /> mamā’’ti taṇhāgāhābhāvamāha. <hi rend="bold">Parāmāso</hi>ti diṭṭhiparāmāso. Tena ‘‘eso me attā’’ti diṭṭhigāhābhāvamāha. Taṇhāgāhābhāveneva cettha ‘‘esohamasmī’’ti mānagāhābhāvopi vuttoyeva hoti, <hi rend="bold">vā</hi>-saddaggahaṇena vā.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Idāni patthanādīnamabhāve kāraṇaṃ dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘tayo bhavā’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. Tattha <hi rend="bold">tayo bhavā aṅgārakāsuyo viya</hi> jātiādidukkhādhiṭṭhānabhāvena mahābhitāpatāya. <hi rend="bold">Cattāro mahābhūtā</hi> kaṭṭhamukhapūtimukhaaggimukhasatthamukhasaṅkhātā <hi rend="bold">ghoravisaāsīvisā viya</hi> kāyassa thaddhatāvissandanadāhacchedadukkhavidhānato visesato, avisesato pana āsayato, visavikārato, anatthadānato, durupacārato, durāsadato, akataññuto, avisesakārito, anekādīnavūpaddavato ca. ‘‘Cattāro āsīvisā uggatejā ghoravisāti kho, bhikkhave <pb ed="M" n="2.0448" />, catunnetaṃ mahābhūtānaṃ adhivacana’’nti (saṃ. ni. 4.238) hi vuttaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Pañcakkhandhā</hi> ekakkhandhabhede aññakkhandhānavaṭṭhānato. Aññamaññāghātanato, maraṇadukkhāvahanato ca <hi rend="bold">ukkhittāsikavadhakā viya</hi>. Vuttampi cetaṃ ‘‘ukkhittāsiko vadhakoti kho, bhikkhave, pañcannetaṃ upādānakkhandhānaṃ adhivacana’’nti. <hi rend="bold">Cha ajjhattikāyatanāni</hi> attattaniyabhāvena gahitānipi tato rittabhāvato <hi rend="bold">suññagāmo viya</hi> bhojanādigayhupagamettha atthīti paviṭṭhasuññagāmo viya. Tathā hi vuttaṃ –</p>

<p rend="indent">‘‘Suññagāmoti kho, bhikkhave, channetaṃ ajjhattikānaṃ āyatanānaṃ adhivacanaṃ. Cakkhuto cepi naṃ, bhikkhave, paṇḍito byatto medhāvī upaparikkheyya, rittakaññeva khāyati, tucchakaññeva khāyati, suññakaññeva khāyatī’’ti (saṃ. ni. 4.238) –</p>

<p rend="unindented">Ādi. <hi rend="bold">Cha bāhirāyatanāni gāmaghātakacorā viya</hi> sabbathāpi ghātakabhāvato. Tenevāha ‘‘corā gāmaghātakāti kho, bhikkhave, channetaṃ bāhirānaṃ āyatanānaṃ adhivacanaṃ. Cakkhu, bhikkhave, haññati manāpāmanāpesu rūpesū’’tiādi. Rāgaggiādīhi <hi rend="bold">ekādasahi aggīhi</hi>. Vuttañhetaṃ –</p>

<p rend="indent">‘‘Cakkhu, bhikkhave, ādittaṃ. Kena ādittaṃ? Rāgagginā dosagginā mohagginā jātiyā jarāya maraṇena sokehi paridevehi dukkhehi domanassehi upāyāsehī’’ti (saṃ. ni. 4.28) –</p>

<p rend="unindented">Ādi <pb ed="V" n="2.0422" />. Saṅkhārānaṃ gaṇḍādisadisatā heṭṭhā vuttāyeva. <hi rend="bold">Nirassādā</hi>ti assādetabbarahitā dukkhasabhāvattā. <hi rend="bold">Nirasā</hi>ti sampattirahitā vipattipariyosānattā. Sabbattha yathā heṭṭhā nirassādā nirasā mahāādīnavarāsibhūtā hutvā upaṭṭhahantīti sambandho, evaṃ uparipi ‘‘savāḷakamiva vanagahana’’ntiādīsu taṃ ānetvā sambandhitabbaṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Sasaddūlā</hi>ti sabyagghā. <hi rend="bold">Gāhā</hi> kumbhilādayo. <hi rend="bold">Rakkhaso</hi> dakarakkhaso. <hi rend="bold">‘‘Nirasaṃ nirassāda’’</hi>nti iminā ādīnavassa abbokiṇṇataṃ dasseti. Tathā hissa yogino sabbesu bhavādīsu sabbepi saṅkhārā nissaggato nirantaraṃ sappaṭibhayāva hutvā upaṭṭhahanti. Yañca sappaṭibhayaṃ, taṃ sādīnavaṃ. Tenāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘tasseva’’</hi>ntiādi.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Ya</hi>nti <pb ed="M" n="2.0449" /> ādīnavañāṇaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Idaṃ vutta</hi>nti idaṃ dasavatthukaṃ dvādasavārapaṭimaṇḍitaṃ anvayabyatirekavasena tasseva padabhājanaṃ <hi rend="bold">paṭisambhidāyaṃ</hi> vuttaṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Uppādo bhaya</hi>nti saṅkhārānaṃ uppādo akhemaṭṭhena bhayavatthutāya bhayaṃ. Uppādamūlakañhi sabbaṃ taṃ sabbavatthukanti sabyasanaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Pavattaṃ bhaya</hi>ntiādīsupi eseva nayo. Natthi etassa uppādo, na vā etasmiṃ adhigate saṅkhārānaṃ āyatiṃ uppādoti <hi rend="bold">anuppādo,</hi> nibbānaṃ. Tañca sabbaso bhayābhāvato paramassāsabhūtattā nibbhayaṭṭhena <hi rend="bold">khema</hi>nti. <hi rend="bold">Santipade</hi>ti sabbasaṅkhārūpasamabhūte amatapade. <hi rend="bold">Appavatta</hi>ntiādīhipi pavattādipaṭikkhepamukhena nibbānameva vadati. Pavattiyaṃ ādīnavaṃ disvā tadanantarameva nivattiyaṃ ānisaṃsadassanavasena sīghaṃ vipassanaṃ ussukkāpentānaṃ vasena <hi rend="bold">‘‘uppādo bhayaṃ, anuppādo khema’’</hi>nti tatiyavāro vutto. Eseva nayo chaṭṭhavārādīsupi. Ettha ca <hi rend="bold">uppādo</hi> viseso, <hi rend="bold">bhayaṃ</hi> visesitabbaṃ sāmaññabhāvatoti satipi dvinnaṃ padānaṃ samānādhikaraṇabhāve liṅgabhedo gahito. Yathā ‘‘dukkhasamudayo ariyasacca’’nti (dī. ni. 3.354; ma. ni. 3.374). Esa nayo <hi rend="bold">‘‘gati bhaya’’</hi>ntiādīsupi.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Uppādo saṅkhārā</hi>ti ettha pana sabbesaṃ saṅkhārānaṃ uppādaṃ sāmaññena gahetvā saṅkhārā bhedato vihitā sabbatthakameva tesaṃ vibhāgato vipassiyamānattāti vacanabhedo kato.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Āyūhanaṃ paṭisandhiṃ ‘‘dukkha’’nti passatīti sambandho. <hi rend="bold">Ñāṇaṃ ādīnave ida</hi>nti ādīnave visayabhūte <pb ed="V" n="2.0423" /> idaṃ pañcavatthukaṃ ñāṇaṃ veditabbaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Ñāṇaṃ santipade</hi>ti santipade ninnādibhāvena ṭhitaṃ idaṃ ñāṇanti attho.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="753"><hi rend="paranum">753</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Kammapaccayā paccuppannabhave uppajjamānānaṃ saṅkhārānaṃ uppādo pākaṭataro hutvā upaṭṭhātīti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘purimakammapaccayā idha uppattī’’</hi>ti. Pavattaṃ nāma idha pavattiyaṃ dhammappavattīti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘uppannassa pavattī’’</hi>ti. <hi rend="bold">Sabbampī</hi>ti tiyaddhagataṃ rūpārūpaṃ ajjhattabahiddhādivibhāgaṃ sabbampi. <hi rend="bold">Kamma</hi>nti etarahi pavattaṃ kammaṃ. Ettha ca uppādapavattaāyūhanaggahaṇena paccuppannaddhapariyāpannā saṅkhārā gahitā, paṭisandhiggahaṇena anāgataddhapariyāpannā upādittā. Uppādaggahaṇena ca atītaddhapariyāpannā kammasaṅkhārā ulliṅgattā. Nimittaggahaṇena pana sabbepi gahitā. <hi rend="bold">Yāya gatiyā sā paṭisandhi hoti</hi> sā <pb ed="M" n="2.0450" /> nirayādibhedā gati sucaritaduccaritavasena gantabbattā, sā panatthato taṃtaṃkammaniyamitā bhavasamaññārahā vipākakkhandhā, kaṭattā ca rūpanti veditabbā. <hi rend="bold">Khandhānaṃ nibbattana</hi>nti sabbesampi khandhānaṃ nibbattanaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Pākaṭā eva</hi> saccavibhaṅge lakkhaṇādivasena niddiṭṭhattā. <hi rend="bold">Vatthuvasenā</hi>ti ārammaṇasaṅkhātapavattiṭṭhānavasena. Yadi te pañceva vatthubhāvena icchitā, atha kasmā sesā vuttāti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘sesā tesaṃ vevacanavasenā’’</hi>ti. Tena vipassakānaṃ ñāṇavipphārassa visayasaṃvaḍḍhanatthaṃ desanā vaḍḍhitāti dasseti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Anvayato dassitassa ādīnavañāṇassa byatirekato dassanatthaṃ <hi rend="bold">paṭipakkhañāṇadassanaṃ</hi> ‘‘yattha uppādo natthi, tattha sabbena sabbaṃ bhayampi natthī’’ti. <hi rend="bold">‘‘Bhayatupaṭṭhānena vā’’</hi>tiādinā pavattiṃ dassetvā nivattidassanaṃ buddhānaṃ, anubuddhānañca āciṇṇametaṃ yathā purimaṃ saccadvayaṃ dassetvā nirodhasaccadesanāti dasseti. Yathā loke kassaci ādīnavadassanaṃ niratthakampi hoti, na tathā idaṃ, idaṃ pana sātthakamevāti imamatthaṃ dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘yasmā vā’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Tappaṭipakkhaninnaṃ cittaṃ hoti</hi> dāhābhibhūtassa sītaninnatā viya suṭṭhu diṭṭhādīnavato ekaṃsena muñcitukamyatābhāvato.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Bhaya</hi>nti bhāyitabbaṃ. <hi rend="bold">‘‘Niyamato dukkha’’</hi>nti etenassa dukkhabhāvena bhāyitabbatāti bhāyitabbatā dukkhabhāvaṃ na byabhicaratīti dasseti. <hi rend="bold">Vaṭṭāmisaṃ</hi> upādinnakkhandhāti vadanti. Tividhampi vaṭṭaṃ, vaṭṭasannissitañca <hi rend="bold">vaṭṭāmisaṃ</hi>. Kilesehi āmasitabbato <hi rend="bold">lokāmisaṃ,</hi> pañca kāmaguṇā <pb ed="V" n="2.0424" />. Kilesā eva <hi rend="bold">kilesāmisaṃ. Saṅkhāramattamevā</hi>ti ettha <hi rend="bold">eva</hi>-saddena visaṅkhāraṃ nivatteti. Na hi tattha sāmisatālesopi atthīti. <hi rend="bold">Matta</hi>-saddena pana aparipuṇṇataṃ vibhāveti. Na hi sabbasaṅkhāragataṃ sāmisanti. <hi rend="bold">Tasmā</hi>ti ‘‘bhaya’’nti vuttassa dukkhādibhāvena niyatattā. Yadi yaṃ bhayaṃ, taṃ dukkhādisabhāvameva, tathā sati bhayādīsu ekeneva atthasiddhi. Kasmā sabbāni gahitānīti anuyogaṃ manasi katvā āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘evaṃ santepī’’</hi>tiādi. Yathā tesu eva saṅkhāresu aniccato dukkhato anattato pavattivasena ākāranānattato anupassanānānattaṃ, evaṃ bhayākārādiākāranānattato <hi rend="bold">pavattivasenevettha</hi> ñāṇassa <hi rend="bold">nānattaṃ</hi><pb ed="M" n="2.0451" />. Tattha bhayākārena pavattaṃ ñāṇaṃ <hi rend="bold">bhayatupaṭṭhānañāṇaṃ,</hi> itarākāravasena pavattaṃ <hi rend="bold">ādīnavañāṇa</hi>nti daṭṭhabbaṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Yasmā ādīnavañāṇassa visayabhāvena vuttā pannarasāpi atthā uppādādīsu pañcasveva antogadhā, tattha ca ñāṇaṃ anvayabyatirekavasena pavattanato dasavidhaṃ hoti. Tasmā āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘dasa ñāṇe pajānātī’’</hi>ti. Pajānanañca sātisayaṃ visayagatasammohavigamena asammūḷhaṃ, attanipi asammūḷhamevāti attānampi pajānantaṃ viya hotīti katvā vuttaṃ. Tenāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘paṭivijjhati sacchikarotī’’</hi>ti. <hi rend="bold">Dvinna</hi>nti dvīsu kusalasaddayogena hi bhummatthe sāmivacanaṃ yathā ‘‘kusalā naccagītassā’’ti (jā. 2.22.94). <hi rend="bold">Kusalatā</hi>ti karaṇe paccattavacananti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘dvinnaṃ kusalatāyā’’</hi>ti. <hi rend="bold">Dvinna</hi>nti vā dvinnaṃ ñāṇānaṃ vasenāti attho. Pavattiyā yāthāvato diṭṭhatāya tappaṭipakkhato santipadaṃ suvinicchitameva hutvā upaṭṭhāti. Tenassa cittaṃ paramadiṭṭhadhammanibbānādimicchāgāhavasena na vicalati. Tattha suparidiṭṭhādīnavattāti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘nānādiṭṭhīsu na kampatī’’</hi>tiādi. Sesamettha uttānatthameva.</p>

<p rend="centre">Ādīnavānupassanāñāṇaṃ niṭṭhitaṃ.</p>

<p rend="subhead">Nibbidānupassanāñāṇakathāvaṇṇanā</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="754"><hi rend="paranum">754</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Saṅkhāragate</hi>ti sabbasmiṃ tebhūmake saṅkhāre. <hi rend="bold">Nibbindatī</hi>ti ñāṇanibbidena nibbedaṃ āpajjati. Tathābhūto ca tattha ukkaṇṭhanto, anabhiramanto ca nāma hotīti vuttaṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘ukkaṇṭhati nābhiramatī’’</hi>ti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Tattha <pb ed="V" n="2.0425" /> anabhiramaṇassa upamaṃ dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘seyyathāpī’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. Anotattadahaṃ parikkhipitvā ṭhitesu dviyojanasatubbedhesu yathākkamaṃ sānuañjanarajatasuvaṇṇasattaratanamayesugandhamādanakāḷakelāsasudassanacittakūṭabhedesu pañcasu himavato mahāsikharesu pacchimo <hi rend="bold">cittakūṭapabbato</hi> nāma. Sīhapapātādīsu <hi rend="bold">sattasu mahāsaresu</hi>.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Suvaṇṇapañjare</hi>ti <pb ed="M" n="2.0452" /> suvaṇṇamaye sīhapañjare. <hi rend="bold">Pakkhitto</hi>ti niruddho. <hi rend="bold">Tividhe sugatibhave</hi>ti kāmasugatiādike tividhe sampattibhave.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Hatthapādavālavatthikosehi bhūmiphusanehi sattahi patiṭṭhitoti <hi rend="bold">sattapatiṭṭho. Nagaramajjhe nābhiramati</hi> dvārapañjaranāḷanādiavabādhanabhayena. <hi rend="bold">Diṭṭhe</hi>ti adhimuttipubbakena anvayadassanena diṭṭhe. Tenāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘tanninnatappoṇatappabbhāramānaso’’</hi>ti.</p>

<p rend="centre">Nibbidānupassanāñāṇaṃ niṭṭhitaṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="755"><hi rend="paranum">755</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Taṃ paneta</hi>nti nibbidāñāṇamāha. <hi rend="bold">Ñāṇadvayenā</hi>ti bhayatupaṭṭhānādīnavānupassanāñāṇadvayena. Yasmā bhayato dissamānā eva saṅkhārā mahādīnavā, nibbinditabbā ca hutvā upaṭṭhahanti, tasmā ekampi taṃ ñāṇaṃ tathābhāvanābalappattiyā avatthāvisesayuttaṃ tividhakiccasāmatthiyavantaṃ hotīti vuttaṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘atthato eka’’</hi>nti. Tenāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘sabbasaṅkhāre’’</hi>tiādi.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Tayidaṃ tāsaṃ anupassanānaṃ matthakappattivasena vuttaṃ, ādimhi pana bhinnasabhāvā eva pavattanti. <hi rend="bold">Uppādesī</hi>ti pātvākāsi, vibhāvesīti attho.</p>

<p rend="subhead">Muñcitukamyatāñāṇakathāvaṇṇanā</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="756"><hi rend="paranum">756</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Na sajjati</hi> bahvādīnavatāya diṭṭhattā. <hi rend="bold">Muñcitukāmaṃ nissaritukāmaṃ hoti</hi> anādikālikassa khandhassa pariññāyamānattā. <hi rend="bold">Muñcitukāmatā</hi> tato attānaṃ nibbedhetukāmatā nissaritukāmatā apagantukāmatā. <hi rend="bold">Pañjarapakkhitto</hi>ti pañjarena samoruddho. <hi rend="bold">Evamādayo</hi>ti <hi rend="bold">ādi</hi>-saddena ādittaaṅgāraupasaṭṭhadesabyāḷasāpadākulavanagahanādīnaṃ saṅgaho daṭṭhabbo.</p>

<p rend="centre">Muñcitukamyatāñāṇaṃ niṭṭhitaṃ.</p>

<p rend="subhead">Paṭisaṅkhānupassanāñāṇakathāvaṇṇanā</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="757"><hi rend="paranum">757</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">‘‘Sabbabhava</hi><pb ed="M" n="2.0453" /><pb ed="V" n="2.0426" /><hi rend="bold">…pe… muñcitukāmo’’</hi>ti vatvā puna <hi rend="bold">sabbasmā saṅkhāragatā</hi>ti <hi rend="bold">sabba</hi>ggahaṇaṃ sātisayamuttidassanatthaṃ adhikavacanaṃ aññamatthaṃ bodhetīti. Yañhi saṅkhārehi ananubandhassa muñcanaṃ, taṃ sātisayaṃ muñcanaṃ. Taṃ pana vuccamānāya paṭisaṅkhānupassanāya hotīti taṃ dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘puna te evaṃ saṅkhāre’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. Tilakkhaṇaṃ āropetvā saṅkhārapariggaṇhanaṃ pubbepi katanti <hi rend="bold">puna</hi>ggahaṇaṃ. Bhavādigatassa saṅkhārassa aparitulitassa abhāvato <hi rend="bold">‘‘te’’</hi>ti vuttaṃ. Anupassanākārassa apubbassapi atthitāya <hi rend="bold">‘‘eva’’</hi>nti vuttaṃ. Idāni vuccamānākārenāti hi attho. Saṅkhārānaṃ pariggaṇhanaṃ nāma paripuṇṇalakkhaṇavaseneva hotīti <hi rend="bold">‘‘tilakkhaṇaṃ āropetvā’’</hi>ti vuttaṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Anaccantikato</hi>tiādīsu yaṃ vattabbaṃ, taṃ heṭṭhā vuttameva. Paṭhamena <hi rend="bold">ādi</hi>-saddena ‘‘ādiantavantato niccapaṭikkhepato’’ti evamādīnaṃ saṅgaho.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Dutiyena ‘‘udayabbayapaṭipīḷanato sukhapaṭikkhepato’’ti evamādīnaṃ saṅgaho.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Ajaññato</hi>ti amanuññato, asobhanato vā. <hi rend="bold">Jegucchato</hi>ti ‘‘dhī’’ti jigucchitabbato. <hi rend="bold">Paṭikkūlato</hi>ti abhiruciyā paṭilomanena paṭikkūlabhāvato. Na maṇḍanena hatā <hi rend="bold">amaṇḍanahatā,</hi> amaṇḍanena sakkā etesaṃ subhabhāvaṃ hantunti attho. Amaṇḍanena vā tesaṃ asubhatā pākaṭā hotīti <hi rend="bold">amaṇḍanahatā</hi>. Maṇḍanena vā na hantabbasabhāvā ‘‘asūriyapassā’’ti viya <hi rend="bold">amaṇḍanahatā</hi>. Tato amaṇḍanahatabhāvatoti rūpasaṅkhāre sandhāya vadati. <hi rend="bold">Virūpato</hi>ti asundarato. Paṭighasaṃyojanavatthutāya passante attani bandhatīti <hi rend="bold">bībhacchaṃ</hi> ativiya virūpaṃ. Yaṃ diṭṭhamattameva domanassuppattinimittaṃ hoti. Ajaññajigucchanīyatā hi gūthaṃ viya pariccajitabbaṃ vā <hi rend="bold">bībhacchaṃ</hi>. Idha <hi rend="bold">ādi</hi>-saddena ‘‘asucito amanāpato’’ti evamādīnaṃ saṅgaho.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Catutthena <hi rend="bold">ādi</hi>-saddena ‘‘apariṇāyakato attapaṭikkhepato’’ti evamādīnaṃ saṅgaho.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="758"><hi rend="paranum">758</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Aya</hi>nti <pb ed="M" n="2.0454" /><pb ed="V" n="2.0427" /> yogāvacaro. <hi rend="bold">Muñcanassā</hi>ti puna ananubandhanatthaṃ sumuttamuñcanassa. <hi rend="bold">Upāyasampādanattha</hi>nti aniccādivasena suṭṭhu pariggaṇhanaṃ parimaddanā upāyo, tassa sādhanatthaṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Macchagahaṇatthaṃ udake tattha tattha khipanti etanti <hi rend="bold">khippaṃ,</hi> macchānaṃ gahaṇakūṭapaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Oḍḍāpesī</hi>ti osāresi, khipīti attho. <hi rend="bold">Sappa</hi>nti kaṇhasappaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Gahaṇe</hi>ti yathāgahitaṃ sappaṃ achaḍḍetvā gahaṇe. <hi rend="bold">Hatthaṃ nibbeṭhetvā</hi>ti sappena attano bhogena veṭhitaṃ hatthapadesaṃ nibbeṭhetvā mocetvā. <hi rend="bold">Āvijjhitvā</hi> āveṭhikappahāpanena bhametvā. <hi rend="bold">Nissajjitvā</hi>ti chaḍḍetvā.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Tatthā</hi>tiādi upamāsaṃsandanaṃ. Tattha <hi rend="bold">āditovā</hi>ti viññutaṃ pattakāle. <hi rend="bold">Ghanavinibbhogaṃ katvā</hi>ti kammaṭṭhānaṃ gahetvā samūhādighanaggahaṇaṃ bhinditvā. <hi rend="bold">Sumutta</hi>nti bhāvanapuṃsakaniddeso ‘‘visamaṃ candimasūriyā parivattantī’’tiādīsu (a. ni. 4.70) viya. Saṅkhārānaṃ niccādiākārena upaṭṭhātuṃ asamatthatā aniccasaññādibhedāya vipassanāya sātisayaṃ balavabhāvappattiyā, sā ca saṅkhārānaṃ aniccādiākārassa suṭṭhutaraṃ sallakkhaṇenāti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘tilakkhaṇāropanena…pe… pāpetvā’’</hi>ti. Yathā hi nibbuddhakaraṇe balavatarena paṭimallena tattha tattha muṭṭhippahārādinā vimathito itaro tena yujjhituṃ asamatthataṃ pāpito hoti. Na kevalaṃ asamatthataṃ pāpitova hoti, atha kho maraṇamattaṃ dukkhaṃ vā maraṇaṃ vā pāpuṇāti, evametepi saṅkhārā evaṃ dubbalabhāvaṃ pāpitā upariñāṇānubhāvena nibbisevanataṃ, sabbaso bhaṅgañca pāpuṇantīti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="759"><hi rend="paranum">759</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Ettāvatā</hi>ti evaṃ ‘‘anaccantikato’’tiādinā parocattālīsāya ākārehi saṅkhārānaṃ aniccādibhāvasallakkhaṇavasappavattena paṭisaṅkhānena.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Aniccato manasikaroto</hi>tiādīsu yaṃ vattabbaṃ, taṃ bhayatupaṭṭhānakathāyaṃ (visuddhi. 2.750) vuttanayameva.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Ayaṃ pana viseso – <hi rend="bold">‘‘paṭisaṅkhā’’</hi>ti padassa <hi rend="bold">‘‘jānitvā’’</hi>ti atthaṃ vatvā paṭisaṅkhānuppajjanakiriyānaṃ samānakhaṇattā asatipi pubbāparakālatte saddavohāramattena evaṃ vuttanti dassento <hi rend="bold">‘‘kāma’’</hi>ntiādimāha. Tena ‘‘kusalaṃ <pb ed="M" n="2.0455" /> dhammaṃ paṭicca kusalo dhammo uppajjati hetupaccayā <pb ed="V" n="2.0428" /> (paṭṭhā. 1.1.53), nihantvā timiraṃ sabbaṃ, uggatoyaṃ divākaro’’ti ca evamādīsu viya samānakālavasenāyaṃ saddapayogoti. Tathā manañca dhamme ca paṭhamaṃ paṭicca pacchā na manoviññāṇassa uppatti, evamidhāpīti dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘manañca paṭiccā’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. Ediso saddapayogo yebhuyyena loke pubbakālavaseneva dissatīti pubbakālavaseneva idhāpi taṃ dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘ekattanayena vā…pe… veditabba’’</hi>nti āha. Tassattho – aparāparaṃ uppannesu ñāṇesu purimassa vasena paṭisaṅkhānakiriyā, tadaññassa vasena uppajjanakiriyā ca yojetabbā, na ca tāni bhedato apekkhitabbāni ekasantānapatitatāya ekattanayavasena gahitattāti. <hi rend="bold">Itarasmiṃ padadvaye</hi>ti ‘‘pavattaṃ paṭisaṅkhā, nimittañca pavattañca paṭisaṅkhā’’ti imasmiṃ padadvaye.</p>

<p rend="centre">Paṭisaṅkhānupassanāñāṇaṃ niṭṭhitaṃ.</p>

<p rend="subhead">Saṅkhārupekkhāñāṇakathāvaṇṇanā</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="760"><hi rend="paranum">760</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Saṅkhārānaṃ aniccadukkhākārādipariggaṇhanavasena pavattampi paṭisaṅkhānupassanāñāṇaṃ visesato anattākārapariggaṇhanapadhānanti vuttaṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘sabbe saṅkhārā suññāti pariggahetvā’’</hi>tiādi. Tasmiñhi sati saccasampaṭivedho ijjhati, na asati. Tadabhāvato hi aniccadukkhalakkhaṇapaññāpakampi <hi rend="bold">sarabhaṅgasatthārā</hi>dīnaṃ sāsanaṃ aniyyānikameva jātaṃ. Atha vā tesaṃ niccasārādīhi rittakaṃ sandhāya <hi rend="bold">‘‘sabbe saṅkhārā suññāti pariggahetvā’’</hi>ti vuttaṃ. Yañhi yato rittakaṃ, taṃ tena suññanti. Saṅkhārānaṃ attasuññatāya duviññeyyabhāvato anekavāraṃ paṭividdhāyapi suññatānupassanāya daḷhībhāvāpādanatthaṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘puna suññamida’’</hi>ntiādi āraddhaṃ. Tattha yadaggena saṅkhārā anattatā, tadaggena anattaniyā. Sati hi attani attaniyena bhavitabbanti vuttaṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘suññamidaṃ attena vā attaniyena vā’’</hi>ti. <hi rend="bold">Dvikoṭika</hi>nti dviaṃsikaṃ, attānaṃ neva disvā ñāṇacakkhunā paccakkhato, anumānato ca tassa anupalabbhanīyatoti adhippāyo. Paraṃ aññaṃ sattaṃ, saṅkhāraṃ vā parikkhārabhāve attano sukhadukkhasādhanabhāve ṭhitaṃ na disvāti yojanā. Puna pariggaṇhātīti sambandho. <hi rend="bold">Etthā</hi>ti etasmiṃ suññatānupassanādhikāre.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Kvacī</hi>ti <pb ed="M" n="2.0456" /><pb ed="V" n="2.0429" /> katthaci ṭhāne, kāle, dhamme vā. Atha vā <hi rend="bold">kvacī</hi>ti ajjhattaṃ, bahiddhā vā. <hi rend="bold">Attano attāna</hi>nti sakattānaṃ. ‘‘Ayaṃ kho bhavaṃ brahmā mahābrahmā…pe… seṭṭho sajitā vasī pitā bhūtabhabyāna’’ntiādinā (dī. ni. 1.42) parehi parikappitaṃ attānañca kassaci kiñcanabhūtaṃ na passatīti dassento <hi rend="bold">‘‘kassacī’’</hi>tiādimāha. Tattha <hi rend="bold">parassā</hi>ti ‘‘parajāti, paro puriso’’ti ca evaṃ gahitassa. <hi rend="bold">Na ca mama kvacanī</hi>ti ettha <hi rend="bold">mama</hi>-saddo aṭṭhāne payuttoti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘mama-saddaṃ tāva ṭhapetvā’’</hi>ti. <hi rend="bold">Parassa cā</hi>ti attato aññassa. ‘‘Paro puriso’’ti evaṃbhūto attho mamatthāya ṭhito, tassa vasena mayhaṃ sabbaṃ sijjhatīti evaṃ ekaccadiṭṭhigatikaparikappitavasena paraṃ attānaṃ tañca attano kiñcanabhūtaṃ na passatīti dassento <hi rend="bold">‘‘na ca kvacanī’’</hi>tiādimāha. Ettha ca <hi rend="bold">nāhaṃ kvacanī</hi>ti sakaattano abhāvaṃ passati. <hi rend="bold">Na kassaci kiñcanatasmi</hi>nti sakaattano eva kassaci anattaniyataṃ passati. <hi rend="bold">Na ca mamā</hi>ti etaṃ dvayaṃ yathāsaṅkhyaṃ sambandhitabbaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Atthī</hi>ti paccekaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Na ca kvacani parassa attā atthī</hi>ti parassa attano abhāvaṃ passati. <hi rend="bold">Tassa parassa attano mama kiñcanatā na catthī</hi>ti parassa attano anattaniyataṃ passati. Evaṃ ajjhattaṃ, bahiddhā ca khandhānaṃ attattaniyasuññatā suddhasaṅkhārapuñjatā catukoṭikasuññatāpariggaṇhanena diṭṭhā hoti. Tena vuttaṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘evamaya’’</hi>ntiādi.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="761"><hi rend="paranum">761</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">‘‘Chahākārehī’’</hi>tiādinā niddesādīsu tattha tattha āgate pakāre suññatānupassanāya paribrūhanaṃ saṅgahetvā dasseti. Tattha <hi rend="bold">chahākārehī</hi>ti chahi gahaṇākārehi, gahetabbākārehi vā. <hi rend="bold">Niccenā</hi>ti ‘‘nicco’’ti parikappitena attanā vā aññena vā kenaci. <hi rend="bold">Niccenā</hi>ti vā niccabhāvena. Dhuvādayo ‘‘nicco’’ti gahitasseva gahetabbākārā. Tabbibhāgena hi imassa chakkatā. Tattha niccatā nāma kūṭaṭṭhatā. Dhuvabhāvo thiratā. Sadā bhāvitā sassatatā. Nibbikāratā avipariṇāmadhammatā. <hi rend="bold">Yāva jarāmaraṇā</hi>ti peyyālaṃ akatvā pariyosānapadameva dasseti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="762"><hi rend="paranum">762</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Na sāranti <hi rend="bold">asāraṃ,</hi> natthi etassa sāranti <hi rend="bold">nissāraṃ</hi>. Sārato apagataṃ, sāraṃ vā tato apagatanti <hi rend="bold">sārāpagataṃ</hi>. Keci panettha <pb ed="M" n="2.0457" /> ‘‘niccasārasārena vā sukhasārasārena vā attasārasārena vā’’ti pāḷīti adhippāyena ‘‘asāraṃ nissāraṃ sārāpagata’’nti padattayaṃ eko suññatāpariggahākāro, aññathā satteva ākārā siyuṃ, na aṭṭhāti vadanti. Apare pana ‘‘subhasārasārenātipi <pb ed="V" n="2.0430" /> pāḷiyaṃ atthīti ‘asāraṃ nissāraṃ sārāpagata’nti idaṃ padattayaṃ ‘niccasārasārenā’tiādīsu paccekaṃ yojetabba’’nti vadanti. <hi rend="bold">Setavaccho</hi>ti setavaruṇako. ‘‘Minarukkho’’tipi vadanti. <hi rend="bold">Pāḷibhaddako</hi>ti kiṃsuko.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="763"><hi rend="paranum">763</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Niccasārādīnaṃ abhāvato <hi rend="bold">rittato passati</hi>. Parittato, lāmakattā vā <hi rend="bold">tucchato</hi>. Attasārābhāvena <hi rend="bold">suññato</hi>. Sayaṃ anattatāya <hi rend="bold">anattato</hi>. Issariyassa abhāvato, kenaci issariyaṃ kāretuṃ asakkuṇeyyatāya ca <hi rend="bold">anissariyato</hi>. Pheṇapiṇḍena bhājanādiṃ kātukāmassa viya rūpassa niccatādiṃ kātukāmassa taṃ na sijjhati, sakaicchāvasena vā kāci kiriyā natthīti <hi rend="bold">akāmakāriyato</hi>. ‘‘Evaṃ rūpaṃ hotu, mā eva’’nti <hi rend="bold">alabbhanīyato</hi>. Sayaṃ aññassa vase na vattati, nāpi aññaṃ attano vase vattetīti <hi rend="bold">avasavattakato</hi>. Yasmiṃ santāne sayaṃ tassa paro viya avidheyyatāya <hi rend="bold">parato</hi>. Kārakādi viya kāraṇehi, phalena ca <hi rend="bold">vivittato</hi>. Na hi kāraṇena phalaṃ, phalena vā kāraṇaṃ sagabbhaṃ tiṭṭhati. Esa nayo vedanādīsupi.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="764"><hi rend="paranum">764</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Rūpaṃ na satto</hi>tiādīsu yo lokavohārena satto, rūpaṃ so na hotīti ayamattho idha nādhippeto tassāvuttasiddhattā. Na hi loko rūpamattaṃ ‘‘satto’’ti voharati, bāhirakaparikappito pana attā ‘‘satto’’ti adhippeto. So hi tehi rūpādīsu sattavisattatāya paresaṃ sañjāpanaṭṭhena ‘‘satto’’ti vuccati, rūpaṃ so na hotīti attho. Suññatāpariggaṇhanañhetanti. Esa nayo <hi rend="bold">na jīvo</hi>tiādīsupi. Tattha jīvanaṭṭhena <hi rend="bold">jīvo</hi>. Naranaṭṭhena netubhāvena <hi rend="bold">naro</hi>. ‘‘Ahamasmī’’ti mānuppattiṭṭhānatāya māno ettha vāti pavattatīti <hi rend="bold">mānavo</hi>. Thiyati ettha gabbhoti <hi rend="bold">itthī</hi>. Padhānabhāvena puri setīti <hi rend="bold">puriso</hi><pb ed="M" n="2.0458" />. Āhito ahaṃmāno etthāti <hi rend="bold">attā</hi>. Paccattaṃ tassa tassa ahaṃkāravatthutāya ‘‘aha’’nti ca diṭṭhigatikehi attā vuccati, rūpaṃ pana tādisaṃ na hotīti suññatāpariggaṇhanavidhiṃ dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘rūpaṃ na satto’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. Tasmā aṭṭhahipi padehi rūpassa attasuññatāva dassitā. Itarehi catūhi tassa kiñcanatābhāvo. Tattha <hi rend="bold">na mamā</hi>ti mayhaṃ attano santakaṃ na hoti, tathā aññassa attano santakaṃ na hoti, kassacipi attano santakaṃ na hoti attanoyeva abhāvato. <hi rend="bold">‘‘Na attaniya’’</hi>nti padena pakāsito evattho pariyāyantarehi tīhipi padehi pakāsito. Esa nayo vedanādīsupi.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="765"><hi rend="paranum">765</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Heṭṭhā <pb ed="V" n="2.0431" /> kalāpasammasanassa daḷhabhāvāya vuttasammasananayāpi suññatānupassanāya daḷhabhāvāya saṃvattantīti dassento <hi rend="bold">‘‘tīraṇapariññāvasenā’’</hi>tiādimāha. Tattha bhayassa ahiṃsanena <hi rend="bold">asaraṇato</hi>. ‘‘Saraṇa’’nti gahetuṃ ayuttatāya <hi rend="bold">asaraṇībhūtato. ‘‘Anassādato’’</hi>ti idaṃ pāḷiyaṃ natthi. Sati ca tecattālīsa ākārā siyuṃ. Rūpappavattiyaṃ sabbādīnavūpaladdhiyā <hi rend="bold">ādīnavato. ‘‘Samudayato atthaṅgamato’’</hi>ti idaṃ dvayaṃ yathā aniccato dassanaṃ panāḷikāya, niccasāravirahadīpanena vā suññatāvibhāvanaṃ hoti, evaṃ suññatāvibhāvananti katvā vuttaṃ. Tathā ‘‘yaṃ kho rūpaṃ paṭicca uppajjati sukhaṃ somanassaṃ, ayaṃ rūpassa assādo’’ti (saṃ. ni. 3.26) dassanaṃ paccayapaccayuppannatāvibhāvanena suññatāvibhāvanaṃ. ‘‘Yaṃ rūpaṃ aniccaṃ dukkhaṃ vipariṇāmadhammaṃ, ayaṃ rūpassa ādīnavo’’ti (saṃ. ni. 3.26) ca dassanaṃ niccatādisuññatābhāvanato. Tathā ‘‘yo rūpe chandarāgavinayo chandarāgappahānaṃ, idaṃ rūpassa nissaraṇa’’nti evaṃ samudayādidassanānaṃ, itaresañca yathārahaṃ suññatānupassanānubrūhanatā daṭṭhabbā. Yaṃ pana ādīnavato dassanaṃ, pubbe vatvāpi puna vacanaṃ assādapaṭikkhepato dassanaṃ sandhāya vuttanti veditabbaṃ. Sesaṃ heṭṭhā vuttanayameva. Vedanādīsupi dvācattālīsa ākārā netabbāti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘vedanaṃ…pe… viññāṇaṃ aniccato…pe… nissaraṇato passatī’’</hi>ti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Vuttampi ca</hi> niddese <hi rend="bold">etaṃ</hi> suññatāpariggaṇhanakathāsandassanaṃ ‘‘asukāya pāḷiyā ayaṃ niddeso’’ti dassanatthaṃ, tassa phalasandassanatthañca.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="766"><hi rend="paranum">766</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Evaṃ <pb ed="M" n="2.0459" /> tīraṇapariññāvasena paccekaṃ khandhesu dvācattālīsāya ākārehi suññataṃ pariggahetvāpi tividhānupassanāvaseneva bhāvanaṃ anuyuñjantassa saṅkhārupekkhāñāṇuppattīti dassento <hi rend="bold">‘‘evaṃ suññato’’</hi>tiādimāha. Tattha <hi rend="bold">pariggaṇhanto</hi>ti sammasanto. <hi rend="bold">Bhayañca nandiñca vippahāyā</hi>ti ajjhupekkhakatāya saṅkhārānaṃ vipattiṃ nissāya uppajjanakabhayañceva tesaṃ sampattiṃ nissāya uppajjanakapītiñca pajahitvā. Atha vā bhayatupaṭṭhānavasena uppajjanakañāṇabhayañca sammasanavasena uppajjanakapītisaṅkhātaṃ nandiñca pahāya. Na hi sabbaso suññatāya diṭṭhāya bhayanandīnaṃ avasaro atthi, atha kho upekkhāva saṇṭhāti. Tenāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘saṅkhāresu udāsīno hotī’’</hi>ti. Tattha yena micchāgāhena anudāsīnatā siyā, tadabhāvaṃ dassento <hi rend="bold">‘‘ahanti vā mamanti vā na gaṇhātī’’</hi>ti āha. Idānissa udāsīnatāya upamaṃ dassento <hi rend="bold">‘‘vissaṭṭhabhariyo viya puriso’’</hi>tiādimāha.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Tattha <pb ed="V" n="2.0432" /> anudāsīnatāpubbikā udāsīnatā vuccamānā idha opammatthaṃ pharatīti dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘iṭṭhā kantā’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Ativiya naṃ mamāyeyya</hi> itthīnaṃ sāṭheyyakūṭeyyavaṅkeyyādīnaṃ ajānanato. <hi rend="bold">Muñcitukāmo hutvā</hi>ti muñcitukāmova hutvā, <hi rend="bold">taṃ vissajjeyya</hi> nirapekkhatāya vasenevāti adhippāyo. <hi rend="bold">Ayaṃ</hi> yogāvacaro. Muñcitukāmatāya uddhaṃ yāva saṅkhārupekkhāñāṇaṃ na uppajjati, tāva pavattā vipassanā paṭisaṅkhānupassanā evāti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘paṭisaṅkhānupassanāya saṅkhāre pariggaṇhanto’’</hi>ti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Patilīyatī</hi>ti ekapassena nilīyati nilīnaṃ viya hoti. <hi rend="bold">Patikuṭatī</hi>ti saṅkucati. <hi rend="bold">Paṭivaṭṭatī</hi>ti vivaṭṭati. <hi rend="bold">Na sampasāriyatī</hi>ti na visarati, abhirativasena na pakkhandatīti attho.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Iccassā</hi>ti iti evaṃ assa yogino.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="767"><hi rend="paranum">767</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Tikkhavisadasūrabhāvena saṅkhāresu ajjhupekkhane sijjhamāne <hi rend="bold">taṃ panetaṃ</hi> saṅkhārupekkhāñāṇaṃ anekavāraṃ pavattamānaṃ paripākagamanena anulomañāṇassa paccayabhāvaṃ gacchantaṃ <hi rend="bold">nibbānaṃ santato passati</hi> nāma. Tathābhūtañca <hi rend="bold">sabbaṃ saṅkhārappavattaṃ vissajjetvā nibbānameva pakkhandati</hi> nāma. Tayidaṃ idha ñāṇaṃ anulomagotrabhuñāṇehi saddhiṃ ekattaṃ netvā vuttaṃ ekattanayavasena <pb ed="M" n="2.0460" />. <hi rend="bold">No ce nibbānaṃ santato passatī</hi>ti tāva saṅkhārupekkhāñāṇassa aparipakkatamevāha. Samuddaṃ tarantīti <hi rend="bold">sāmuddikā,</hi> saṃyattikā. Disājānanako kāko <hi rend="bold">disākāko,</hi> lakkhaṇamattañcetaṃ yo koci tādiso sakunto veditabbo. <hi rend="bold">Videsa</hi>nti adesaṃ samudde aparicitaṭṭhānaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Anugantvā</hi>ti anu anu gantvā.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Tayidaṃ</hi> vipassanāñāṇaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Piṭṭhaṃ vaṭṭayamānaṃ viyā</hi>ti thūlathūlato vivecanavasena nipphoṭiyamānaṃ saṇhaṃ saṇhaṃ piṭṭhacuṇṇaṃ viya. <hi rend="bold">Nibbaṭṭitakappāsa</hi>nti nibbaṭṭitabījaṃ kappāsaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Vihanamānaṃ viyā</hi>ti dhanukena vihaññamānaṃ viya. Upamādvayenapi punappunaṃ sammasanena vipassanāñāṇassa sukhumatarabhāvāpattimāha. Yathā yathā hi vipassanābhāvanābalena tikkhā, visadā, sūrā ca hoti, tathā tathā sukhumatarāpi hotīti. <hi rend="bold">Saṅkhāravicinane</hi>ti pavicayassa sikhāppattatāya saṅkhāresu viya tesaṃ vicinanepi udāsīnaṃ hutvā tividhānupassanāvasena tiṭṭhati pakārantarassa abhāvato. <pb ed="V" n="2.0433" /> ‘‘Sattadhā aṭṭhārasadhā’’tiādinā vibhattāpi hi anupassanāpakārā aniccānupassanādīsveva tīsu antogadhāti matthakappattā vipassanā tāsaṃ eva vasena tiṭṭhati.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="768"><hi rend="paranum">768</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Tatrā</hi>ti tasmiṃ vimokkhamukhabhāvāpajjane, ariyapuggalavibhāgapaccayatthe ca. <hi rend="bold">Idaṃ</hi> vipassanāñāṇaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Tiṇṇaṃ indriyāna</hi>nti saddhindriyasamādhindriyapaññindriyānaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Ādhipateyyavasenā</hi>ti sampayuttadhammānaṃ adhipatibhāvavasena. Aniccānupassanābahulassa hi saddhindriyaṃ balavaṃ hoti, dukkhānupassanābahulassa samādhindriyaṃ, anattānupassanābahulassa paññindriyanti tissannaṃ anupassanānaṃ vasena balavatarabhāvaṃ pattāni imāni tīṇi indriyāni vimokkhamukhabhāvaṃ āpādentīti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘tividhānupassanā…pe… āpajjati nāmā’’</hi>ti. <hi rend="bold">Tividhavimokkhamukhabhāva</hi>nti ettha ke pana tayo vimokkhā, kāni vā tīṇi vimokkhamukhānīti antolīne anuyoge vimokkhamukhādhīnattā vimokkhādhigamassa vimokkhamukhāni tāva dassento <hi rend="bold">‘‘tisso hi…pe… vuccantī’’</hi>ti vatvā ayañca attho pāḷito eva viññāyatīti dassento <hi rend="bold">‘‘yathāhā’’</hi>tiādimāha.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Lokaniyyānāyā</hi>ti <pb ed="M" n="2.0461" /> lokato nikkhamanāya, sattalokassa vā vaṭṭadukkhato nikkhamanāya. <hi rend="bold">Paricchedaparivaṭumato</hi>ti udayabbayavasena paricchedato ceva parivaṭumato ca. <hi rend="bold">Samanupassanatāyā</hi>ti sammadeva anu anu passanāya saṃvattantīti sambandho. Aniccānupassanā hi saṅkhāre ādito udayena, antato vayena paricchinne passati. Ādiantavantatāya hi te aniccāti. <hi rend="bold">Animittāya ca dhātuyā</hi>ti sabbasaṅkhāranimittavirahato ‘‘animittā’’ti laddhanāmāya asaṅkhatāya dhātuyā. <hi rend="bold">Cittasampakkhandanatāyā</hi>ti paricchinditvā anulomañāṇādibhāvena sammadeva adhicittassa anupavisanatthāya. <hi rend="bold">Appaṇihitāyā</hi>ti rāgapaṇidhiādīnaṃ abhāvena ‘‘appaṇihitā’’ti laddhanāmāya. <hi rend="bold">Suññatāyā</hi>ti attasuññatāya ‘‘suññatā’’ti laddhanāmāya.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Gati</hi>nti nibbattiṃ. Saṅkhārānaṃ sabhāvavibhāvanena saṃvejiyamānaṃ cittaṃ sammāpaṭipattiyaṃ samuttejitaṃ nāma hotīti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘manosamuttejanatāyāti cittasaṃvejanatāyā’’</hi>ti. Mamaṃkārena attaniyasaññitassa vatthuno sāmibhūto attā paṭhamaṃ parāmasīyati, tato attaniyanti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘nāhaṃ, na mamāti evaṃ anattato samanupassanatāyā’’</hi>ti. <hi rend="bold">Tīṇi padānī</hi>ti paricchedaparivaṭuma, manosamuttejana, samanupassanapadānīti vadanti, ‘‘sabbasaṅkhāre’’tiādīni pana tīṇi vākyāni tīṇi <pb ed="V" n="2.0434" /> padānīti veditabbāni. <hi rend="bold">Tenevā</hi>ti aniccānupassanādīnaṃ vasena tesaṃ tiṇṇaṃ padānaṃ vuttattā eva. <hi rend="bold">Pañhavissajjane</hi>ti ‘‘aniccato manasi karoto kathaṃ saṅkhārā upaṭṭhahantī’’ti pañhassa vissajjane.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="769"><hi rend="paranum">769</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Evaṃ vimokkhamukhāni dassetvā idāni vimokkhe dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘katame panā’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Aniccato manasi karonto</hi>ti aniccānupassanaṃ anuyuñjanto. <hi rend="bold">Adhimokkhabahulo</hi>ti saddhindriyabahulo. Yassa visesato aniccānupassanā tikkhā sūrā hoti, tassa saddhindriyaṃ adhimattaṃ hoti. ‘‘Aniccā saṅkhārā’’ti hi ādito saddhāmattakena paṭipajjitvā vipassanāya ukkaṃsagatāya tarupallavādīsu viya maṇikanakādīsupi tesaṃ aniccataṃ sātisayaṃ paccakkhato passato ‘‘sammāsambuddho vata so bhagavā’’ti satthari saddhā balavatī pavattatīti so adhimokkhabahulo, adhimattasaddho ca hoti. Tassa aniccānupassanābahulatāya aniccākārato <pb ed="M" n="2.0462" /> vuṭṭhānaṃ hotīti so <hi rend="bold">‘‘animittaṃ vimokkhaṃ paṭilabhatī’’</hi>ti vuttaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Passaddhibahulo</hi>ti dukkhānupassanaṃ anuyuñjanto ‘‘dukkhā saṅkhārā, tappaṭipakkhato sukho nirodho’’ti ca manasikāravasena nibbānassa santapaṇītasukhabhāvaṃ adhimuccanto abhiṇhaṃ pītipāmojjasamāyogato passaddhibahulo hoti. Tato ca adhimattasamādhindriyapaṭilābhena rāgapaṇidhiyā dūrībhāvato appaṇihitavimokkhasamadhigamo hotīti vuttaṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘dukkhato…pe… paṭilabhatī’’</hi>ti. <hi rend="bold">Vedabahulo</hi>ti anattānupassanaṃ anuyuñjanto attasuññatāya nipuṇañāṇavisayattā ñāṇabahulo hoti. Tato ca adhimattapaññindriyapaṭilābhena mohassa dūrībhāvato suññatavimokkhasamadhigamo hotīti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘anattato…pe… paṭilabhatī’’</hi>ti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Yo aniccānupassanāya nimittavasena saṅkhāre pariggahetvā vipassanaṃ anuyuñjanto yattha idaṃ saṅkhāranimittaṃ sabbaso natthi, taṃ ‘‘animittaṃ nibbāna’’nti animittākārena adhimuccanto vuṭṭhānagāminimaggena ghaṭeti. Tassa maggo animittato nibbānaṃ sacchikarotīti vuccatīti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘animittākārena nibbānaṃ ārammaṇaṃ katvā pavatto ariyamaggo’’</hi>ti. Svāyaṃ nibbānassa animittākāro neva maggena kato, na vipassanāya, atha kho sabhāvasiddho. Tadārammaṇatāya ca maggo animittoti vuccatīti dassento āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘animittāya dhātuyā uppannattā animitto’’</hi>ti. Yo dukkhānupassanāvasena paṇidhiyā dūrībhāvakaraṇena appaṇihitaṃ adhimuccanto <pb ed="V" n="2.0435" />, yo anattānupassanāvasena attūpaladdhiyā dūrībhāvakaraṇena suññataṃ adhimuccantoti ca ādinā yojetabbaṃ. Tenāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘eteneva nayenā’’</hi>tiādi.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="770"><hi rend="paranum">770</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Yadi ariyamaggo tividhampi vimokkhanāmaṃ labhati, atha kasmā <hi rend="bold">abhidhamme</hi> vimokkhadvayameva āgatanti codanaṃ sandhāyāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘yaṃ panā’’</hi>tiādi. Tattha <hi rend="bold">ta</hi>nti abhidhamme vimokkhadvayavacanaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Nippariyāyato vipassanāgamanaṃ sandhāyā</hi>ti ujukameva vipassanato maggassa nāmāgamanaṃ sandhāya vuttaṃ. Kasmā? Animittavipassanā āgamanīyaṭṭhāne ṭhatvā attano maggassa nāmaṃ dātuṃ na sakkoti. Kāmaṃ <hi rend="bold">sutte</hi> ‘‘animittañca bhāvehi, mānānusayamujjahā’’ti (su. ni. 344) animittavipassanā kathitā, sā pana niccanimittadhuvanimittaattanimittāni <pb ed="M" n="2.0463" /> ugghāṭentīpi sayaṃ nimittadhammesu eva caratīti sanimittāva hotīti. Apica abhidhammo nāma paramatthadesanā, animittamaggassa ca paramatthato hetuvekallameva. Aniccānupassanāvasena hi <hi rend="bold">animittavimokkho</hi> kathito. Tattha ca saddhindriyaṃ adhimattaṃ hoti, taṃ ariyamagge ekaṅgampi na hoti, amaggaṅgattā attano maggassa nāmaṃ dātuṃ na sakkoti. Itaresu dukkhānupassanāya vasena <hi rend="bold">appaṇihitavimokkho,</hi> anattānupassanāya vasena <hi rend="bold">suññatavimokkho</hi>.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Tesu appaṇihitavimokkhena samādhindriyaṃ, suññatavimokkhena paññindriyaṃ adhimattaṃ hotīti tāni ariyamaggassa aṅgattā attano maggassa nāmaṃ dātuṃ sakkonti, na animittamaggo tadabhāvatoti keci. Ye pana vadanti ‘‘animittamaggo āgamanato nāmaṃ alabhantopi saguṇato ca ārammaṇato ca nāmaṃ labhatī’’ti, tesaṃ matena appaṇihitasuññatamaggāpi saguṇato eva, ārammaṇato eva ca nāmaṃ labheyyunti? Taṃ ayuttaṃ. Kasmā? Maggo hi dvīhi kāraṇehi nāmaṃ labhati sarasato ca paccanīkato cāti, sabhāvato ca paṭipakkhato cāti attho. <hi rend="bold">Appaṇihitamaggo</hi> hi rāgapaṇidhiādīhi vimutto, <hi rend="bold">suññatamaggo</hi> rāgādīhi suñño evāti te sarasato nāmaṃ labhanti. Tathā <hi rend="bold">appaṇihitamaggo</hi> paṇidhissa paṭipakkho, <hi rend="bold">suññatamaggo</hi> attābhinivesassa evāti te paccanīkato nāmaṃ labhanti, <hi rend="bold">animittamaggo</hi> pana rāgādinimittānaṃ, niccanimittādīnaṃ vā abhāvena sarasato eva nāmaṃ labhati, no paccanīkato. Na hi so saṅkhāranimittārammaṇāya aniccānupassanāya paṭipakkho, sā <pb ed="V" n="2.0436" /> panassa anulomabhāve ṭhitāti sabbathāpi abhidhammapariyāyena animittamaggo na labbhati. Tena vuttaṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘taṃ nippariyāyato vipassanāgamanaṃ sandhāyā’’</hi>ti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Yasmā suttantapariyāyena animittamaggo labbhati. Vuṭṭhānagāminī hi vipassanā yaṃ yaṃ sammasantī vuṭṭhānaṃ gacchati, tassa tassa vasena āgamanīyaṭṭhāne ṭhatvā attano maggassa nāmaṃ deti, tattha aniccato vuṭṭhahantassa maggo animitto hoti, dukkhato vuṭṭhahantassa appaṇihito, anattato vuṭṭhahantassa suññato, tasmā suttantasaṃvaṇṇanā esāti katvā idha tayopi vimokkhā uddhaṭā. Yaṃ pana <hi rend="bold">paṭisambhidāmagge</hi> abhinivesanimittapaṇidhimuñcanaṃ upādāya tissannampi anupassanānaṃ tadāgamanavasena tadanvayassa maggassa ca suññatavimokkhādibhāvo niddiṭṭho, tassa pariyāyabhāve <pb ed="M" n="2.0464" /> vattabbameva natthīti dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘vipassanāñāṇaṃ hī’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. Vipassanāñāṇaṃ paṭisambhidāmagge ‘‘appaṇihito, vimokkho’’ti ca kiñcāpi vuttanti sambandho.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Aniccānupassanāñāṇa</hi>nti ‘‘aniccā saṅkhārā’’ti anupassanāvasena pavattañāṇaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Niccato abhinivesaṃ muñcatī</hi>ti ‘‘te niccā’’ti niccākārato pavattamicchābhinivesaviddhaṃsanavasena, tadanvayaṃ pana maggañāṇaṃ samucchedavasena muñcati. <hi rend="bold">Itī</hi>ti tasmā. Aniccābhinivesato rittatāya, vimuttatāya ca <hi rend="bold">suññato vimokkho</hi>. Sesapadesupi eseva nayo.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Ta</hi>nti tividhaṃ vipassanāñāṇaṃ. Tattha yassa pariyāyato, yassa ca nippariyāyato nāmalābho, taṃ dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘saṅkhāranimittassā’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Na nippariyāyena,</hi> atha kho pariyāyenāti attho. <hi rend="bold">Tasmā</hi>ti nippariyāyakathābhāvato. <hi rend="bold">Vimokkhadvayameva vuttaṃ</hi> abhidhammeti adhippāyo. <hi rend="bold">Etthā</hi>ti etasmiṃ vipassanādhikāre. ‘‘Tividhavimokkhamukhabhāvaṃ āpajjitvā’’ti etasmiṃ vā uddesavacane.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="771"><hi rend="paranum">771</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Tesaṃ vibhāgāyā</hi>ti tesaṃ yathāvuttānaṃ sattannaṃ ariyapuggalānaṃ saddhānusāriādibhāvena vibhattasabhāvatāya.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="772"><hi rend="paranum">772</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Saddhindriyaṃ paṭilabhatī</hi>ti saddhānusāribhāvitākāraṇabhūtaṃ adhimattaṃ saddhindriyaṃ paṭilabhati. Adhimokkhabahulatāya, saddhindriyādhimattatāya ca kāraṇaṃ heṭṭhā vuttameva. Apica ayamettha <pb ed="V" n="2.0437" /> saṅkhepattho – aniccākārasallakkhaṇassa saddhābhibuddhiyā upanissayabhāvato tadanvaye magge saddhā tikkhatarā hoti, tena aṭṭhamako <hi rend="bold">saddhānusārī</hi> nāma hoti. <hi rend="bold">Sesesu sattasu ṭhānesū</hi>ti paṭhamaphalato paṭṭhāya yāva aggaphalā sattasu ṭhānesu. ‘‘Sattasu ṭhānesū’’ti kasmā vuttaṃ, nanu sesesu chasu ṭhānesu saddhāvimutto, aggaphale pana sacāyaṃ arūpajjhānalābhī, ubhatobhāgavimutto hoti, no ce arūpajjhānalābhī, paññāvimutto, na saddhāvimutto. <hi rend="bold">Abhidhamme</hi> hi –</p>

<p rend="indent">‘‘Katamo ca puggalo <hi rend="bold">saddhāvimutto</hi>? Idhekacco puggalo ‘idaṃ dukkha’nti yathābhūtaṃ pajānāti, ‘ayaṃ dukkhasamudayo’ti, ‘ayaṃ dukkhanirodho’ti, ‘ayaṃ dukkhanirodhagāminī paṭipadā’ti yathābhūtaṃ pajānāti. Tathāgatappaveditā cassa dhammā paññāya diṭṭhā <pb ed="M" n="2.0465" /> honti, paññāya cassa disvā ekacce āsavā parikkhīṇā honti, no ca kho yathādiṭṭhippattassa. Ayaṃ vuccati puggalo saddhāvimutto’’ti (pu. pa. 208) –</p>

<p rend="unindented">Ekaccāsavaparikkhayavacanato saddhāvimuttassa sekkhabhāvo viññāyati, na asekkhabhāvo. Aṭṭhakathāyañca ‘‘dve dhurāni, dve abhinivesā, dve sīsānī’’ti vacanato natthi arahato saddhāvimuttatāti? Saccametaṃ nippariyāyato. Nippariyāyakathā hi abhidhammo, idha pana pariyāyena evaṃ vuttaṃ. Yadi pariyāyato arahato saddhāvimuttatā, ko pana so pariyāyo? Saddhāvimuttanvayatā. Yo hi aggamaggakkhaṇe saddhāvimutto hoti, so aggaphalakkhaṇepi tadanvayatāya saddhāvimuttoti <hi rend="bold">paṭisambhidāmagge</hi> pariyāyena vuttoti idhāpi tatheva vuttaṃ. Atha vā saddhāvimuttasadisatāya arahā saddhāvimutto. Kā panettha sadisatā? Yathā saddhāvimuttassa sekkhassa kilesakkhayo kuṇṭhena asinā kadalicchedasadiso ‘‘no ca kho yathādiṭṭhippattassā’’ti vacanato, evaṃ tadanvayassāpi arahatoti ayamettha sadisatā. Kiṃ pana nesaṃ kilesapahāne nānattaṃ atthīti? Natthi. Atha kasmā saddhāvimutto diṭṭhippattaṃ na pāpuṇātīti? Āgamanīyanānattena. Diṭṭhippatto hi āgamanamhi kilese vikkhambhento appakasirena akilamanto vikkhambhetuṃ sakkoti, saddhāvimutto kicchena kasirena vikkhambhetuṃ sakkoti. Apica paññāyapi nesaṃ vemattatā. Sā ca yāvatikā labbhatevāti vadanti. Evañca katvā paṭhamamaggādīsu satipi indriyasamatte saddhādīnaṃ tikkhatāvacanampi samatthitaṃ hoti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="773"><hi rend="paranum">773</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">So</hi>ti <pb ed="V" n="2.0438" /> dukkhato vuṭṭhito. <hi rend="bold">Sabbatthā</hi>ti aṭṭhasupi ṭhānesu. Nanu ca aṭṭhakathāyaṃ ‘‘dve dhurānī’’ti niyamitattā paṭhamamaggakkhaṇe saddhānusārī vā siyā, dhammānusārī vā? Idha na saddhānusārī yutto, kāyasakkhitāpi arahato natthi. <hi rend="bold">Abhidhamme</hi> hi –</p>

<p rend="indent">‘‘Katamo ca puggalo <hi rend="bold">kāyasakkhī</hi>? Idhekacco puggalo aṭṭha vimokkhe kāyena phusitvā viharati, paññāya cassa disvā ekacce āsavā parikkhīṇā honti. Ayaṃ vuccati puggalo kāyasakkhī’’ti (pu. pa. 208) –</p>

<p rend="unindented">Ekaccāsavaparikkhayavacanato <pb ed="M" n="2.0466" /> kāyasakkhino sekkhabhāvova viññāyatīti? Saccametaṃ nippariyāyato, idha pana pariyāyena vuttaṃ. Ko pana so pariyāyoti? Kāyasakkhisadisatā. Upacārarūpajjhānasamādhito hi sātisayaṃ arūpasamādhisamphassaṃ laddhā nibbattīti ekaccāsavaparikkhayaṃ upādāya ‘‘kāyasakkhī’’ti vattabbapuggalena sātisayasamādhisamphassatadadhiṭṭhānāsavaparikkhayasāmaññaṃ apekkhitvā kāyasakkhī viya <hi rend="bold">kāyasakkhī</hi>ti arahā <hi rend="bold">paṭisambhidāmagge</hi> vuttoti idhāpi tameva nayaṃ gahetvā arahatopi kāyasakkhitā vuttā. Suttantasaṃvaṇṇanā hesāti. Nippariyāyena pana paṭhamaphalato paṭṭhāya chasu ṭhānesu kāyasakkhī nāma hoti, so ca kho aṭṭhasamāpattilābhī, na vipassanāyāniko sukkhavipassako, upacāramattalābhī, rūpajjhānamattalābhī vā. <hi rend="bold">Passaddhibahulo</hi>ti ca passaddhisīsena samādhi vuttoti sātisayasamādhilābhī samathayānikova adhippeto, samathayānikasseva ca kāyasakkhibhāvo heṭṭhā vutto. <hi rend="bold">Arūpajjhāna</hi>nti catubbidhaṃ arūpajjhānaṃ. Tattha pana ekampi laddhā arahattaṃ patto ubhatobhāgavimutto eva hotīti imamatthaṃ dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘arūpajjhāna’’</hi>micceva vuttaṃ, na ‘‘cattāri arūpajjhānānī’’ti. Tenāyaṃ catunnaṃ arūpasamāpattīnaṃ, nirodhasamāpattiyā ca vasena pañcavidho hoti. Esa nayo kāyasakkhimhipi. Dvīhi bhāgehi dve vāre vimuttoti <hi rend="bold">ubhatobhāgavimutto</hi>.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="774"><hi rend="paranum">774</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Paññavato nipuṇatarā, gambhīrā ca atthā pākaṭā hutvā upaṭṭhahantīti anattato manasi karoto vedabahulatā, paññindriyapaṭilābho ca vutto. <hi rend="bold">Dhammānusārī hoti</hi> paññindriyassa adhimattattā. Paññā hi idha ‘‘dhammo’’ti adhippetā ‘‘saccaṃ dhammo dhiti cāgo’’tiādīsu viya (jā. 1.1.57).</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="775"><hi rend="paranum">775</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Yassā <pb ed="V" n="2.0439" /> pāḷiyā vasena idha ariyapuggalassa saddhāvimuttādibhāvo vutto, taṃ pāḷiṃ dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘vuttaṃ heta’’</hi>ntiādi āraddhaṃ, taṃ suviññeyyameva.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="776"><hi rend="paranum">776</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> ‘‘Saddhindriyassa adhimattattā saddhāvimutto’’ti evamādiatthassa sādhakaṃ <hi rend="bold">aparampi vuttaṃ. ‘‘Saddahanto vimutto’’</hi>ti etena sabbathā avimuttassa <pb ed="M" n="2.0467" /> saddhāmattena vimuttabhāvadassanena saddhāvimuttassa sekkhabhāvameva vibhāveti. <hi rend="bold">Saddhāvimutto</hi>ti vā saddhāya adhimuttoti attho.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Phuṭṭhantaṃ sacchikato</hi>ti phuṭṭhānaṃ anantaraṃ phuṭṭhanto, phuṭṭhānaṃ arūpajjhānānaṃ anantaro kāloti adhippāyo, accantasaṃyoge cetaṃ upayogavacanaṃ, phuṭṭhānantarakālameva sacchikaraṇūpāyena sacchikātabbaṃ sacchākāsīti vuttaṃ hoti. Bhāvanapuṃsakaṃ vā etaṃ yathā ‘‘ekamanta’’nti (pārā. 2). Yo hi arūpajjhānena rūpakāyato, nāmakāyekadesato ca vikkhambhanavimokkhena vimutto, tena nirodhasaṅkhāto vimokkho ālocito pakāsito viya hoti, na pana kāyena sacchikato, nirodhaṃ pana ārammaṇaṃ katvā ekaccesu āsavesu khepitesu tena so sacchikatova hoti. Tasmā so sacchikātabbaṃ yathāālocitaṃ nāmakāyena sacchākāsīti <hi rend="bold">kāyasakkhī</hi>ti vuccati, na tu vimutto ekaccānaṃ āsavānaṃ aparikkhīṇattā. <hi rend="bold">Diṭṭhantaṃ patto</hi>ti dassanasaṅkhātassa sotāpattimaggañāṇassa anantaraṃ pattoti vuttaṃ hoti. Paṭhamaphalato paṭṭhāya hi yāva aggamaggā diṭṭhippattoti. <hi rend="bold">‘‘Diṭṭhiyā patto’’</hi>ti vā pāṭho, catusaccadassanasaṅkhātāya diṭṭhiyā nirodhaṃ pattoti attho. Ime ca saddhāvimuttādayo tayo paramatthato apariyositañāṇakiccāti taṃ nayaṃ dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘saddahanto vimuccatī’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Jhānaphassa</hi>nti sātisayaṃ jhānaphassaṃ. Tena arūpajjhānaphasso saṅgahito hoti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">‘‘Dukkhā saṅkhārā</hi>ti <hi rend="bold">ñātaṃ hotī’’</hi>ti iminā dukkhasaccapaṭivedhamāha, <hi rend="bold">‘‘sukho nirodho</hi>ti <hi rend="bold">ñātaṃ hotī’’</hi>ti iminā nirodhasaccapaṭivedhaṃ. Tadubhayena ca samudayamaggasaccapaṭivedhaṃ nānantariyakabhāvato. <hi rend="bold">‘‘Ñātaṃ hotī’’</hi>ti iminā dutiyamaggakiccaṃ, <hi rend="bold">‘‘diṭṭhaṃ hotī’’</hi>ti iminā tatiyamaggakiccaṃ, <hi rend="bold">‘‘viditaṃ hotī’’</hi>ti iminā catutthamaggakiccaṃ, <hi rend="bold">‘‘sacchikata’’</hi>nti iminā paṭhamaphalakiccaṃ, <hi rend="bold">‘‘phusita’’</hi>nti iminā sesaphaladvayakiccaṃ. Iti diṭṭhippattassa maggaphalañāṇabyāpāradassanāni imāni padānīti vadanti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="777"><hi rend="paranum">777</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Itaresū</hi>ti <pb ed="V" n="2.0440" /> saddhānusāriādipadesu. <hi rend="bold">Saddhaṃ anusaratī</hi>ti āgamanīyaṭṭhāne ṭhitaṃ saddhaṃ anugacchati. Yathā sā tikkhā sūrā ahosi <pb ed="M" n="2.0468" />, maggakkhaṇepi tadanurūpameva pavattetīti attho. <hi rend="bold">Saddhāya vā anusaratī</hi>ti saddhāya kāraṇabhūtāya saccapaṭivedhassa anurūpaṃ sarati gacchati, paṭipajjatīti attho. Dvīhipi atthavikappehi saddhāya adhimattataṃyeva vibhāveti. <hi rend="bold">Dhammānusārī</hi>ti etthāpi eseva nayo. <hi rend="bold">Ubhatobhāgavimutto</hi>ti dvīhi bhāgehi dve vāre vimutto, rūpakāyato ca nāmakāyato ca vikkhambhanavasena, samucchedavasena ca vimuttoti attho. Arūpajjhānena rūpakāyato ca nāmakāyekadesato ca vimutto, ariyamaggena nāmakāyato vimuttoti ubhohi bhāgehi dve vāre vimuttattā ubhatobhāgavimutto. <hi rend="bold">Pajānanto vimutto</hi>ti paṭhamajjhānaphassena vinā parijānanādippakārehi cattāri ariyasaccāni jānanto paṭivijjhanto tesaṃ kiccānaṃ matthakappattiyā niṭṭhitakiccatāya visesena muttoti vimutto.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Ayaṃ panettha nippariyāyato saṅkhepakathā – yassa aniccākārato vuṭṭhānaṃ hoti, so adhimokkhabahulo saddhindriyassa tikkhabhāvena paṭhamamaggakkhaṇe <hi rend="bold">saddhānusārī</hi> nāma hoti, majjhe chasu ṭhānesu <hi rend="bold">saddhāvimutto</hi>. Aggaphalakkhaṇe <hi rend="bold">paññāvimutto</hi> nāma hoti. Tathā yassa dukkhākārato vuṭṭhānaṃ hoti, tassa passaddhibahulatāya samādhindriyaṃ adhimattaṃ hoti dukkhupanisāya saddhāyapi tibbatarattā, dhuraniyamato ca. Sopi paṭhamamaggakkhaṇe <hi rend="bold">saddhānusārī</hi> eva hoti, majjhe chasu ṭhānesu <hi rend="bold">saddhāvimutto,</hi> ante <hi rend="bold">paññāvimutto</hi> ca hoti. Yassa pana anattākārato vuṭṭhānaṃ hoti, so vedabahulo paññindriyassa tikkhabhāvena paṭhamamaggakkhaṇe <hi rend="bold">dhammānusārī</hi> eva hoti, majjhe chasu ṭhānesu <hi rend="bold">diṭṭhippatto,</hi> ante <hi rend="bold">paññāvimutto</hi> eva hoti. Ime pana na aṭṭhavimokkhalābhino, aṭṭhavimokkhalābhī pana paṭhamamaggakkhaṇe <hi rend="bold">saddhānusārī</hi> vā <hi rend="bold">dhammānusārī</hi> vā siyā. Majjhe chasu ṭhānesu <hi rend="bold">kāyasakkhī,</hi> pariyosāne <hi rend="bold">ubhatobhāgavimutto</hi>ti.</p>

<p rend="centre">Saṅkhārupekkhāñāṇaṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="778"><hi rend="paranum">778</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Yaṃ taṃ vimokkhamukhabhāvaṃ āpajjitvā sattaariyapuggalavibhāgāya ca paccayo hotīti vuttaṃ, <hi rend="bold">taṃ panetaṃ</hi> saṅkhārupekkhāñāṇaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Purimena ñāṇadvayenā</hi>ti muñcitukamyatāpaṭisaṅkhānupassanāñāṇadvayena <hi rend="bold">atthato</hi><pb ed="M" n="2.0469" /><hi rend="bold">ekaṃ,</hi> pavattiākārabhedato nānanti adhippāyo. Yathāvuttamatthaṃ aṭṭhakathāya, pāḷiyā ca sādhetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘tenāhū’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. Muñcitukamyatāmuñcanupāyakaraṇañāṇānipi saṅkhāresu udāsīnabhāveneva pavattanato saṅkhārupekkhāsamaññāneva hontīti <pb ed="V" n="2.0441" /> vuttaṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘idaṃ saṅkhārupekkhāñāṇaṃ ekameva tīṇi nāmāni labhatī’’</hi>ti. Tena saṅkhārupekkhāvohāro muñcitukamyatādiñāṇasamudāyavisayoti dasseti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="780"><hi rend="paranum">780</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Uppādādīnī</hi>ti uppādapavattādiapadesena vutte saṅkhāre. <hi rend="bold">Pariccajitukāmatā</hi>ti tappaṭibandhachandarāgappahānena vissajjitukāmatā. <hi rend="bold">Paṭisaṅkhāna</hi>nti punappunaṃ tīraṇaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Muñcitvā</hi>ti nirālayabhāvāpattiyā apekkhāvissajjanavasena vissajjitvā. <hi rend="bold">Avasāne</hi>ti tathākaraṇassa uttarakālaṃ. Yāva nibbānasampakkhandanā na ijjhati, tāva vicinanepi udāsīnatāya ñāṇassa santānavasena pavattiṃ sandhāyāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘ajjhupekkhanaṃ santiṭṭhanā’’</hi>ti. <hi rend="bold">Eva</hi>nti ajjhupekkhanākārasāmaññato ‘‘muñcitukamyatā ca sā santiṭṭhanā cā’’ti vuttākārena.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="781"><hi rend="paranum">781</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Ime dhammā</hi>ti ime ñāṇasaṅkhātā dhammā, ñāṇapariyāyo vā idha dhamma-saddo, tasmā imāni ñāṇānīti attho. <hi rend="bold">Ekattā</hi>ti ekasabhāvā.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="782"><hi rend="paranum">782</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Vuṭṭhānagāminī hoti</hi> vuṭṭhānagamanato. <hi rend="bold">Saṅkhārupekkhādiñāṇattayassā</hi>ti saṅkhārupekkhānulomagotrabhusaññitassa ñāṇattayassa. Kiccavasena pavattiṭṭhānavasenapi lokiyañāṇānaṃ upari ṭhitattā vuttaṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘uttamabhāvaṃ pattattā’’</hi>ti. <hi rend="bold">Nimittabhūtato</hi>ti vipassanāya ārammaṇabhūtato khandhapañcakato. Tenāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘abhiniviṭṭhavatthuto’’</hi>ti. Tañhi vipassanāya gocarakaraṇasaṅkhātena abhinivesena abhiniviṭṭhavatthunti pavuccati. Taṃ panetaṃ sasantatipariyāpannampi parato diṭṭhitāya ‘‘bahiddhā’’ti vuttaṃ. Tadeva hi ‘‘bahiddhā sabbanimittānī’’ti tattha tattha vuccati. <hi rend="bold">Ajjhattapavattato</hi>ti sasantāne micchādiṭṭhipavattanaādito, tadanuvattakakilesakkhandhehi ca. Tañhi sasantatiyaṃ kilesappavattabhāvato, tannimittaṃ asati maggabhāvanāya uppajjanakaupādinnakkhandhapavattabhāvato ca tathā vuttaṃ. Vuṭṭhahanañca nesaṃ ārammaṇākaraṇaṃ, āyatiṃ anuppattidhammatāpādanañca. <hi rend="bold">Ghaṭiyati</hi> attano anantarameva maggasamuppattito.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="783"><hi rend="paranum">783</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Tatrā</hi>ti <pb ed="M" n="2.0470" /> tasmiṃ ‘‘abhiniviṭṭhavatthuto vuṭṭhahanato’’ti saṅkhepavacane. Ajjhattabahiddhā rūpārūpapapañcakkhandhalakkhaṇattayavasena ayaṃ <hi rend="bold">mātikā</hi> uddeso. <hi rend="bold">Ajjhattaṃ abhinivisitvā</hi>ti sasantatipariyāpannesu khandhesu vipassanaṃ paṭṭhapetvā. <hi rend="bold">‘‘Ajjhattā vuṭṭhātī’’</hi>ti idaṃ <pb ed="V" n="2.0442" /> vuṭṭhānagāminiyā ajjhattadhammārammaṇattā pariyāyato vuttaṃ, nippariyāyato pana maggo sabbatopi vuṭṭhāti. <hi rend="bold">Bahiddhā vuṭṭhātī</hi>tiādīsupi eseva nayo. <hi rend="bold">Ekappahārenā</hi>ti ekajjhaṃ, taṃ pana ajjhattādivibhāgaṃ akatvā ‘‘yaṃ kiñci samudayadhammaṃ, sabbaṃ taṃ nirodhadhamma’’nti (dī. ni. 1.298; saṃ. ni. 5.1081; mahāva. 16; paṭi. ma. 2.30) avibhāgena vuṭṭhānagāminiyā pavattivasena veditabbaṃ, tayidaṃ satthu sammukhā desanānusārena ñāṇaṃ pesentassa ñāṇuttarassa sambhavatīti vadanti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="784"><hi rend="paranum">784</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Suddhaajjhattadassanamatteneva maggavuṭṭhānaṃ na hoti</hi> mamaṃkāravatthunopi pariññeyyattā maggasaṅkhātaṃ vuṭṭhānaṃ, maggena vā vuṭṭhānaṃ <hi rend="bold">maggavuṭṭhānaṃ</hi>.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="785"><hi rend="paranum">785</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Rāsiṃ katvā</hi>ti bhūtupādāyavasena duvidhaṃ antarabhedavasena anekabhedampi ‘‘ruppanaṭṭhena rūpa’’nti piṇḍato gahetvā. Yathā rūpe vipassanābhiniveso yebhuyyena vipassanāyānikassa, evaṃ arūpe vipassanābhiniveso yebhuyyena samathayānikassa hoti. <hi rend="bold">Abhiniveso</hi>ti ca vipassanāya pubbabhāge kattabbanāmarūpaparicchedo veditabbo. Tasmā paṭhamaṃ rūpapariggaṇhanaṃ rūpe abhiniveso. Esa nayo sesesupi.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="786"><hi rend="paranum">786</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Yaṃ kiñci samudayadhammaṃ, sabbaṃ taṃ nirodhadhamma</hi>nti kāmaṃ udayabbayapariggaṇhanaṃ abhinivesoti dassitaṃ, yathāupaṭṭhite pana rūpārūpadhamme, tesañca paccaye pariggahetvā saṅkhepeneva vipassanāñāṇaṃ cārento ñāṇuttaro yathānisinnova ñāṇapaṭipāṭiyā khippameva saccāni paṭivijjhanto ekappahārena pañcahi khandhehi vuṭṭhāti nāma. Aññathā ekeneva lokiyacittena pañcannaṃ khandhānaṃ pariggahaparijānanādīnaṃ asambhavato. Na hi sanidassanasappaṭighādiṃ ekajjhaṃ ārammaṇaṃ kātuṃ sakkā. Yassa pana ekavāraṃ ñāṇena phassitaṃ, puna taṃ phassitabbameva, tādisassa vasena vuttanti vadanti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="788"><hi rend="paranum">788</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Ettha <pb ed="M" n="2.0471" /> ca abhiniveso akāraṇaṃ vuṭṭhānameva pamāṇaṃ, tasmā heṭṭhā vuttavimokkhaariyapuggalavibhāgāpi vuṭṭhānavasena sambhavantīti dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘ettha ca yopī’’</hi>tiādi āraddhaṃ. Tattha <hi rend="bold">tayopi janā</hi>ti vuṭṭhānavasena bhede asatipi abhinivesavaseneva laddhaṃ bhedaṃ gahetvā vuttaṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="789"><hi rend="paranum">789</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Saddhiṃ</hi><pb ed="V" n="2.0443" /><hi rend="bold">purimapacchimañāṇehī</hi>ti bhayatupaṭṭhānādipurimañāṇehi ceva gotrabhuādipacchimañāṇehi ca saha. <hi rend="bold">Uddāna</hi>nti uddeso.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Yattha katthaci…pe… vaṭṭeyyuṃ</hi> taṃtaṃñāṇaṭṭhāniyassa upamāvatthuno labbhanato. <hi rend="bold">Imasmiṃ pana ṭhāne</hi>ti imasmiṃ vuṭṭhānagāminivipassanāpadese. <hi rend="bold">Sabba</hi>nti sabbaṃ ñāṇaṃ, sabbaṃ vā ñāṇakiccaṃ pākaṭaṃ hoti vemajjhe ṭhatvā vibhāviyamānattā. <hi rend="bold">Vuttā</hi> visuddhikathāyaṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="790"><hi rend="paranum">790</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Nilīyitvā</hi>ti upavisitvā. <hi rend="bold">Parāmasitvā</hi>ti vīmaṃsitvā.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Gayhupagaṃ adisvā</hi>ti gahaṇayoggaṃ niccasārādiṃ adisvā. Cittassa vaṅkabhāvakarānaṃ māyādīnaṃ suṭṭhu vikkhambhanena anulomassa ujukasākhāsadisatā. Nibbānālocanato gotrabhuñāṇassa uddhaṃ ullokanasadisatā. Appatiṭṭhe nibbāne patiṭṭhitattā maggañāṇassa ākāse uppatanasadisatā.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="791"><hi rend="paranum">791</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Sappavissajjanaṃ viya gotrabhuñāṇaṃ</hi> sabbasaṅkhāragataṃ vissajjitvā nibbānassa ālambanato. <hi rend="bold">Āgatamaggaṃ olokentassa ṭhānaṃ viya maggañāṇaṃ</hi> asammohapaṭivedhavasena attanopi dassanato. <hi rend="bold">Abhayaṭṭhāne ṭhāna</hi>nti abhayaṭṭhānaṃ sampattamāha, na tassa pāpuṇapaṭipattiṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="792"><hi rend="paranum">792</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Attatthādīnaṃ anavabujjhanato ‘‘ahaṃ, mamā’’ti gahaṇassa niddokkamanasadisatā. <hi rend="bold">Muñcitukamyatā</hi>ggahaṇeneva paṭisaṅkhā santiṭṭhanāpi gahitā. Tissannampi tāsaṃ saṃsārato nikkhamanādhimuttatāya nikkhamanamaggolokanasadisatā. Magge diṭṭhe maggapaṭipatti viya anulome siddhe maggo siddho evāti anulomassa maggadassanasadisatā. Saṅkhāranimittato nikkhantattā ādittagharato <hi rend="bold">nikkhamanaṃ viya gotrabhuñāṇaṃ. Vegena</hi><hi rend="bold">gamanaṃ</hi><pb ed="M" n="2.0472" /><hi rend="bold">viya maggañāṇaṃ</hi> vissajjetabbagahetabbapadesesu sādhanakiccavisesayogato.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="793"><hi rend="paranum">793</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Parato na mamāyitabbato ca passitabbānaṃ khandhānaṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘ahaṃ, mamā’’</hi>ti gahaṇassa rājagoṇānaṃ sakagahaṇasadisatā vuttā.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="794"><hi rend="paranum">794</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Sabhaye <pb ed="V" n="2.0444" /> abhayadassanahetutāya khandhānaṃ ‘‘ahaṃ, mamā’’ti gahaṇassa yakkhiniyā saṃvāsasadisatā. <hi rend="bold">Susānavijahanaṃ viya</hi> saṅkhārasusānaṃ vijahitvā nibbānārammaṇavasena pavattaṃ <hi rend="bold">gotrabhu</hi>.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="795"><hi rend="paranum">795</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Puttagiddhinī</hi>ti puttavacchalā. <hi rend="bold">Ottappamānā</hi>ti sārajjayamānā. Oḷārikaoḷārikalobhakkhandhādivikkhambhanena saṅkhārapariccajanato anulomassa tattheva dārakoropanasadisatā.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="796"><hi rend="paranum">796</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Vuṭṭhānagāminiyā…pe… dassanatthaṃ vuttā,</hi> na purimāsu viya bhayatupaṭṭhānādīsu ṭhitassa bhāyanādiākāradassanatthanti adhippāyo. Aparāparuppattito, cirānubandhato, dussahato ca vaṭṭadukkhasadisaṃ jighacchādukkhanti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘saṃsāravaṭṭajighacchāyā’’</hi>ti. Kāyagatāsati eva bhojanaṃ <hi rend="bold">kāyagatāsatibhojanaṃ</hi>. Sā panettha maggasampayuttā sammāsati kāyānupassanādikiccasādhanavasena amatarasaparibhogatāya ca <hi rend="bold">‘‘amatarasaṃ kāyagatāsatibhojana’’</hi>nti vuttā. Tenāha bhagavā ‘‘amataṃ te, bhikkhave, paribhuñjanti, ye kāyagatāsatiṃ paribhuñjantī’’tiādi (a. ni. 1.600).</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Phalarasāmalakasiṅgīveramuggamāsādi <hi rend="bold">anekaṅgasambhāraṃ</hi>.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Kapaṇāseribhāvādikaraṇena taṇhāsinehassa sītasadisatā. <hi rend="bold">Maggateja</hi>nti ariyamaggasaṅkhātaṃ indaggiṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Rāgaggiādayo ekādasaggī vūpasamanti etthāti <hi rend="bold">ekādasaggivūpasamaṃ,</hi> nibbānaṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Andhakārapareto</hi>ti caturaṅgasamannāgatena andhakārena kiñci attatthaṃ vā paratthaṃ vā kātuṃ asakkuṇeyyabhāvena abhibhūto. Ñāṇamayo āloko etissāti <hi rend="bold">ñāṇālokā,</hi> maggabhāvanā.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Amatabhūtaṃ <pb ed="M" n="2.0473" />, amatabhāvasādhakaṃ vā osadhaṃ <hi rend="bold">amatosadhaṃ,</hi> nibbānaṃ. Heṭṭhā attanā vuttameva saṅkhārupekkhābyāpāraṃ nigamanavasena dassento <hi rend="bold">‘‘tena vutta’’</hi>ntiādimāha.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="797"><hi rend="paranum">797</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Nirālayatāya <pb ed="V" n="2.0445" /> taṇhāvasena bhavādīsu avisaṭajjhāsayo hutvā tato saṅkucitacitto patilīnabhāvena carati pavattatīti patilīnacaro, tassa <hi rend="bold">patilīnacarassa</hi>. Saṃsāre bhayassa ikkhanatāya <hi rend="bold">bhikkhuno</hi> kāyacittavivekasiddhiyā <hi rend="bold">vivittamāsanaṃ bhajamānassa. Sāmaggiya</hi>nti yuttaṃ, patirūpanti attho. <hi rend="bold">Bhavane</hi>ti kāmabhavādike tividhepi bhave. So hi idha bhavanaṭṭhena bhavanti vutto. <hi rend="bold">Na dassaye</hi>ti anuppajjanavasena na dasseyya. <hi rend="bold">Tassa taṃ</hi> adassanaṃ sāmaggiyanti buddhādayo ariyā <hi rend="bold">āhū</hi>ti yojanā.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Niyametvā</hi>ti niyataṃ ekaṃsikaṃ katvā. Bojjhaṅgavisesaṃ, maggaṅgavisesaṃ, jhānaṅgavisesaṃ, paṭipadāvisesaṃ, vimokkhavisesanti visesasaddo paccekaṃ yojetabbo. <hi rend="bold">Visesa</hi>nti chasattabhāvo sattaṭṭhabhāvo pañcādibhāvoti imaṃ yathākkamaṃ bojjhaṅgādīnaṃ ariyamagge labbhamānabhedaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Pādakajjhāna</hi>nti maggassa āsannavuṭṭhānagāminiyā vipassanāya padaṭṭhānabhūtaṃ jhānaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Vipassanāya ārammaṇabhūtā</hi>ti maggāsannāya eva vuṭṭhānagāminiyā vipassanāya gocarabhūtā vipassitā. <hi rend="bold">Puggalajjhāsayo</hi>ti ubhinnaṃ bhede sati vipassakassa ajjhāsayo. Ettha ca paṭhamaṃ <hi rend="bold">kecī</hi>ti vutto tipiṭakacūḷanāgatthero. Dutiyaṃ <hi rend="bold">kecī</hi>ti vutto moravāpīvāsimahādattatthero. Tatiyaṃ <hi rend="bold">kecī</hi>ti vutto tipiṭakacūḷābhayatthero.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Tesampi vādesu ayaṃ pubbabhāgavuṭṭhānagāminivipassanā niyametiyevāti veditabbā</hi>. Kasmā? Vipassanāniyameneva hi paṭhamattheravādepi apādakapaṭhamajjhānapādakamaggā paṭhamajjhānikāva honti, itare ca dutiyajjhānikādimaggā pādakajjhānavipassanāniyamehi taṃtaṃjhānikāva tato tato dutiyādipādakajjhānato uppannassa saṅkhārupekkhāñāṇassa pādakajjhānātikkantānaṃ aṅgānaṃ asamāpajjitukāmatāvirāgabhāvanābhāvato, itarassa ca atabbhāvato. Yathā hi maggāsannāya vipassanāya somanassasahagatatte maggassa paṭhamādijhānikatā ca upekkhāsahagatatte pañcamajjhānikatā eva ca hoti, tato ca bojjhaṅgādīnaṃ <pb ed="M" n="2.0474" /> visesoti tesaṃ niyamane āsannakāraṇaṃ, padhānakāraṇañca vuṭṭhānagāminivipassanā, na evaṃ pādakajjhānādayo. Yasmā pana pādakajjhānena vinā vipassanāva imaṃ yathāvuttavisesaṃ niyametuṃ na sakkoti, vuttanayena pana padhānakāraṇaṃ hotiyeva, tasmā ‘‘vuṭṭhānagāminivipassanāva niyametī’’ti avatvā ‘‘vuṭṭhānagāminivipassanā niyametiyevā’’ti vuttaṃ. Evaṃ sesavādesupi vipassanāniyamo yathāsambhavaṃ yojetabbo. Yathā hi pādakajjhānātikkantānaṃ aṅgānaṃ asamāpajjitukāmatāvirāgabhāvanābhūtā <pb ed="V" n="2.0446" /> vuṭṭhānagāminivipassanā adhiṭṭhānabhūtena pādakajjhānena āhitavisesā maggassa bojjhaṅgādivisesaniyāmikā hoti, evaṃ ārammaṇabhūtasammasitajjhānātikkantānaṃ aṅgānaṃ jigucchanākāravirāgabhāvanābhūtā sammasitajjhānena āhitavisesā, ubhayasabbhāve ajjhāsayavasena tato aññatarena āhitavisesā ca vuṭṭhānagāminivipassanā maggassa bojjhaṅgādivisesaṃ niyametīti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="798"><hi rend="paranum">798</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Tatra</hi> tasmiṃ bojjhaṅgādivisesaniyamane. Ajhānalābhī suddhavipassanāyānikova sukkhavipassako. So hi jhānasinehena vipassanāya asiniddhabhāvato sukkhā lūkhā vipassanā etassāti <hi rend="bold">sukkhavipassako</hi>ti vuccati. <hi rend="bold">Pakiṇṇakasaṅkhāre</hi>ti pādakajjhānato aññe saṅkhāre. Tena pādakajjhānasaṅkhāresu sammasitesu vattabbameva natthīti dasseti. <hi rend="bold">‘‘Paṭhamaṃ jhānaṃ pādakaṃ katvā’’</hi>ti hi vuttaṃ. Ettha ca sukkhavipassakādiggahaṇaṃ vipassanāniyamassa ekantikabhāvadassanatthaṃ. Na hi vuṭṭhānagāminiṃ vinā kevalaṃ pādakajjhānādayo niyamahetū diṭṭhā, vuṭṭhānagāminī pana pādakajjhānādīnaṃ abhāvepi sukkhavipassakādīnaṃ maggassa paṭhamajjhānikabhāvahetu, tasmā sā bojjhaṅgādivisesaniyamane ekantikahetūti. Idāni yathāvuttamatthaṃ pākaṭataraṃ kātuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘tesaṃ hī’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Ayaṃ viseso</hi>ti ayaṃ jhānādīnaṃ caturaṅgikādiviseso, na pubbe viya vipassanāniyameneva, atha kho pādakajjhānaniyamena ceva vipassanāniyamena ca. <hi rend="bold">Tesampī</hi>ti pañcakanaye dutiyatatiyacatutthajjhānāni pādakāni katvā uppāditamaggānampi. <hi rend="bold">‘‘Āsannapadese’’</hi>ti iminā vipassakena antarantarā paviṭṭhasamāpattiyā vasena ayaṃ viseso natthīti dasseti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="799"><hi rend="paranum">799</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Tatrāpi</hi><pb ed="M" n="2.0475" /><hi rend="bold">cā</hi>ti dutiyattheravādepi. Taṃtaṃsamāpattisadisatā taṃtaṃsammasitasaṅkhāravipassanāniyamehi hoti. Tatrāpi hi vipassanā taṃtaṃvirāgāvirāgabhāvanābhāvena somanassasahagatā, upekkhāsahagatā ca hutvā jhānaṅgādiniyamaṃ maggassa karotīti evaṃ vipassanāniyamo vuttanayeneva veditabbo.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="800"><hi rend="paranum">800</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Ta</hi>nti taṃtaṃjhānasadisabhavaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Svāyamattho</hi> pādakajjhānasammasitajjhānupanissayehi vinā ajjhāsayamattena asijjhanaṃ upanissayena vinā saṅkappamattena sakadāgāmiphalādīnaṃ asijjhanadīpakena <hi rend="bold">nandakovādena dīpetabbo</hi>. Tattha hi yathā sotāpannāyapi paripuṇṇasaṅkappataṃ vadantena <pb ed="V" n="2.0447" /> bhagavatā ‘‘yassa yassa upanissayo atthi, tassa tasseva ajjhāsayo niyāmako, nāññassā’’ti tena tena paripuṇṇasaṅkappatā hoti, na tato paraṃ, saṅkappasabbhāve satipi asijjhanatoti ayamattho dīpito, evamidhāpi yassa yassa dutiyādijhānikassa maggassa yathāvutto upanissayo atthi, tassa tasseva ajjhāsayo niyāmako, nāññassa satipi tasmiṃ asijjhanato. Imasmiṃ pana vāde pādakasammasitajjhānupanissayasabbhāve ajjhāsayo ekantena hoti taṃtaṃphalūpanissayasabbhāve taṃtaṃsaṅkappo viyāti tadabhāvābhāvato ‘‘ajjhāsayo niyametī’’ti vuttaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Etthāpī</hi>ti tatiyattheravādepi. <hi rend="bold">Vuttanayenevā</hi>ti ‘‘yato yato samāpattito vuṭṭhāyā’’tiādinā vuttanayena. Tasmā ‘‘tatrāpi hi vipassanā’’tiādinā idha vuttanayena tadattho veditabbo.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="801"><hi rend="paranum">801</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Evaṃ vipassanāya bojjhaṅgādiniyāmikataṃ dassetvā idāni paṭipadādiniyāmikataṃ dassento <hi rend="bold">‘‘sace panāya’’</hi>ntiādimāha. Tattha <hi rend="bold">aya</hi>nti saṅkhārupekkhā vuttā. Sāpi hi kāmaṃ ‘‘imaṃ vāraṃ rocesu’’nti ettha kalāpasammasanāvasāne udayabbayānupassanāya pavattamānāya uppannassa vipassanupakkilesassa tikkhattuṃ vikkhambhanena kicchatāvāraṃ dukkhāpaṭipadāti rocesunti vadanti, <hi rend="bold">aṭṭhakathāyaṃ</hi> pana ‘‘vipassanāñāṇe tikkhe sūre pasanne vahante uppannaṃ vipassanānikantiṃ dukkhena kasirena kilamanto pariyādiyatī’’ti vuttattā pubbabhāge muñcitukamyatādibhāvena pavattamānā <pb ed="M" n="2.0476" /> saṅkhārupekkhā attano paṭipakkhe kicchena kasirena vikkhambhentī dukkhāpaṭipadāpakkheyeva tiṭṭhatīti. Tenāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘ādito kilese vikkhambhayamānā’’</hi>tiādi. Keci pana ‘‘yena ñāṇena vipassanupakkilesā vikkhambhitā, tena saddhiṃ idaṃ ñāṇaṃ ekattanayavasena ekaṃ katvā <hi rend="bold">‘ādito kilese vikkhambhayamānā’</hi>ti vutta’’nti vadanti. <hi rend="bold">Sappayogenā</hi>ti cittappayogasaṅkhātena saussāhanena. <hi rend="bold">Sasaṅkhārenā</hi>ti tasseva vevacanaṃ. Ubhayenāpi vikkhambhanassa kicchasiddhimeva vadati. <hi rend="bold">Vipariyāyenā</hi>ti adukkhena appayogena asaṅkhārena. Maggasaññitaṃ icchitaṭṭhānaṃ anugantvā parivasati vippavasati etthāti parivāso, vipassanā parivāso etassa atthīti <hi rend="bold">vipassanāparivāso,</hi> maggapātubhāvo, taṃ pana sīghaṃ kurumānā khippābhiññā nāma hotīti vuttaṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘saṇika’’</hi>nti. Kurumānā ayaṃ saṅkhārupekkhāti yojanā. Yato maggo āgacchati, taṃ āgamanīyaṭṭhānaṃ, tasmiṃ <hi rend="bold">āgamanīyaṭṭhāne</hi>. Maggassa pabhavaṭṭhāne ṭhatvā nāmaṃ detīti sambandho. Dukkhāpaṭipadādandhābhiññādivipassanānayo añño, añño eva maggoti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘attano attano maggassā’’</hi>ti. <hi rend="bold">Tena</hi> āgamanato laddhanāmena ‘‘dukkhāpaṭipadā <pb ed="V" n="2.0448" /> dandhābhiññā’’tiādīni cattāri nāmāni labhati. Na hi maggassa sarasato edisaṃ nāmaṃ atthi.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Sā panāyaṃ</hi> vuttappabhedā <hi rend="bold">paṭipadā. Nānā hotī</hi>ti visuṃ visuṃ hoti. Ekassa bhikkhuno <hi rend="bold">catūsupi maggesu ekāva</hi> hotīti niyamo natthi calanato. <hi rend="bold">Ahesu</hi>nti vuttaṃ, amhākaṃ bhagavantaṃ sandhāya hontīti pana vattabbaṃ. Sabbesampi hi sammāsambuddhānaṃ cattāropi maggā sukhāpaṭipadā khippābhiññāva hontīti. Paṭipadāpasaṅgena adhipatimpi dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘yathā cā’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Adhipatayo</hi>ti chandādiadhipatayo. Pubbābhisaṅkhārānurūpañhi maggo paccekaṃ chandādhipateyyo vā hoti vīriyādīsu aññatarādhipateyyo vā, na kassaci niyamo atthi. Tenāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘kassaci bhikkhuno’’</hi>tiādi.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="802"><hi rend="paranum">802</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Pubbe vuttappakārato sātisayaṃ katvā anavasesato maggassa nāmalābhe kāraṇaṃ dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘apicā’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. Tattha <hi rend="bold">sarasenā</hi>ti sabhāvena attano pavattivisesena. <hi rend="bold">Paccanīkenā</hi>ti paṭipakkhavasena. <hi rend="bold">Saguṇenā</hi>ti attano guṇavasena.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Kāmañcettha <pb ed="M" n="2.0477" /> yathā āgamanena vinā saguṇena, ārammaṇena ca maggassa nāmalābho avavatthito, evaṃ paccanīkena vinā saraseneva nāmalābho, tathāpi sarasādayo paccekaṃ nāmalābhassa kāraṇamevāti dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘sarasena vā’’</hi>tiādinā sabbattha aniyamattho <hi rend="bold">vā</hi>-saddo vutto. Te ca asaṅkarato dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘sace hī’’</hi>tiādi āraddhaṃ. Tattha <hi rend="bold">sammasitvā</hi>ti sammasanahetu. Hetuattho hi ayaṃ <hi rend="bold">tvā</hi>-saddo ‘‘ghataṃ pivitvā balaṃ hoti, sīhaṃ disvā bhayaṃ hotī’’tiādīsu viya, maggakattukāya vuṭṭhānakiriyāya ekantikahetubhūtā saṅkhārupekkhā phalūpacārena <hi rend="bold">‘‘vuṭṭhātī’’</hi>ti vuttā. Yasmā vā saṅkhārupekkhāti vuṭṭhānagāminiyā etaṃ upalakkhaṇaṃ, tadantogadhañca gotrabhuñāṇaṃ nimittato vuṭṭhāti, tasmā vuttaṃ ekattanayena <hi rend="bold">‘‘sammasitvā vuṭṭhātī’’</hi>ti. <hi rend="bold">Animittavimokkhena vimuccatī</hi>ti animittasaññitena vimuccanena vimuccati, ‘‘maggo’’ti ānetvā sambandhitabbaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Vimuccatī</hi>ti vā taṃsamaṅgī ariyapuggalo. Sesadvayepi eseva nayo. <hi rend="bold">Idaṃ sarasato nāmaṃ nāmā</hi>ti idaṃ nimittādivirahato animittaṃ appaṇihitaṃ suññatanti tividhampi maggassa sabhāvato siddhanāmaṃ nāma.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Esā</hi>ti <pb ed="V" n="2.0449" /> maggo. So ca kho pubbabhāgamaggena saddhiṃ ekaṃ katvā vutto ekattanayena. <hi rend="bold">Idaṃ paccanīkato nāmaṃ nāmā</hi>ti idaṃ niccanimittādīnaṃ paṇidhiyā, attasaññāya ca pahānavasena laddhaṃ maggassa animittādināmattayaṃ paṭipakkhato siddhanāmaṃ nāma.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Suññattā</hi>ti vivittattā. Na hi magge rāgādayo santi. <hi rend="bold">Rūpanimittādīna</hi>nti rūpanimittavedanānimittādīnaṃ gahetabbānanti adhippāyo. <hi rend="bold">Rāganimittādīna</hi>nti etthāpi eseva nayo. Saviggahānaṃ viya upaṭṭhānañhettha nimittanti adhippetaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Idamassa saguṇato</hi> nāmanti idaṃ rāgādivivittattā rūpanimittādipaṇidhiādiabhāvavasena assa maggassa saguṇato siddhaṃ nāmaṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Svāya</hi>nti so ayaṃ maggo. <hi rend="bold">Suññata</hi>nti sabbasaṅkhārasuññato, attasuññato ca <hi rend="bold">suññataṃ</hi>. Sabbasaṅkhāranimittābhāvato <hi rend="bold">animittaṃ</hi>. Taṇhāpaṇidhiādīnaṃ abhāvena <hi rend="bold">appaṇihitaṃ. Idamassa ārammaṇato nāma</hi>nti yathā sukhārammaṇaṃ rūpaṃ ‘‘sukha’’nti vuccati, evaṃ suññatādināmassa nibbānassa <pb ed="M" n="2.0478" /> ārammaṇakaraṇato idaṃ assa maggassa suññatādibhedaṃ ārammaṇato siddhaṃ nāmaṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="803"><hi rend="paranum">803</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Anattānupassanā attasuññatāya diṭṭhattā sarasato <hi rend="bold">suññatā nāma</hi>. Tassā suññatāvipassanāya maggo vipassanāgamanena <hi rend="bold">suññato. Animittā nāma</hi> niccanimittādīnaṃ ugghāṭanato. <hi rend="bold">Idaṃ pana</hi> maggassa animittanāmaṃ <hi rend="bold">na abhidhammapariyāyena labbhati</hi>. Kiṃ kāraṇaṃ? Abhidhamme sarasaṃ anāmasitvā paccanīkato nāmalābhato. Yo hi saguṇārammaṇehi nāmalābho, so sarasappadhāno hoti, saraseneva ca nāmalābhe sabbamaggānaṃ suññatādibhāvoti vavatthānaṃ na siyā. Tasmā abhidhamme satipi dvīhipi kāraṇehi animittanāmalābhe paccanīkatova nāmavavatthānakaraṇaṃ gayhatīti tadabhāvā na labbhati. Atha vā <hi rend="bold">na labbhatī</hi>ti aññanirapekkhehi saguṇārammaṇehi na labbhati. Kiṃ kāraṇaṃ? Abhidhamme sarasapaccanīkehi sahitehi nāmalābhato. Paccanīkañhi vavatthānakaraṇaṃ anapekkhitvā kevalassa sarasassa nāmahetubhāvo abhidhamme natthi, avavatthānāpattito. Tasmā attābhinivesapaṇidhipaṭipakkhavipassanānulomā maggā satipi sarasantare paccanīkasahitena sarasena nāmaṃ labhanti. Animittamaggassa pana vipassanā nimittapaṭipakkhā na hoti, sayaṃ nimittaggahaṇato nimittaggahaṇānivāraṇāti tadanulomo maggopi na nimittassa paṭipakkho. Yadi siyā, nimittagatavipassanāyapi paṭipakkho siyā, tasmā vijjamānopi saraso vavatthānakarapaccanīkābhāvā abhidhamme animittanāmadāyako <pb ed="V" n="2.0450" /> na gayhatīti. Yadi evaṃ, aniccānupassanānulomo maggo abhidhamme asaṅgahito siyāti? Na, suddhikapaṭipadānaye tassa saṅgahitattā. Tasmā eva hi so vutto. Suttante pana pariyāyadesanattā saguṇārammaṇamattenapi nāmaṃ gayhatīti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘suttantapariyāyena labbhatī’’</hi>ti. Yaṃ panettha vattabbaṃ, taṃ heṭṭhā vuttameva. Āgamanavasenapi maggassa animittanāmaṃ labbhatiyevāti dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘tatrā hī’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Āgamanīyaṭṭhāne</hi>ti āgamanapaṭipadāṭhāne. Sesaṃ vuttanayattā uttānamevāti.</p>

<p rend="subhead">Anulomañāṇakathāvaṇṇanā</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="804"><hi rend="paranum">804</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi><hi rend="bold">Adhimokkhasaddhā</hi>ti <pb ed="M" n="2.0479" /> pasādabhūto vatthugato nicchayo adhimokkho. Tasmā tathābhūtā bhāvanāvisesena kiccato adhimattatāya balavatarā nibbattati. <hi rend="bold">Supaggahita</hi>nti suṭṭhu paggahitaṃ. Asallīnaṃ paṭutarabhāvena paṭipakkhavidhamanasamatthaṃ vīriyaṃ hoti. <hi rend="bold">Sūpaṭṭhitā</hi>ti tikkhataratāya ārammaṇābhimukhabhāvena suṭṭhu upaṭṭhitā sati hoti. <hi rend="bold">Susamāhita</hi>nti passaddhisukhānaṃ sātisayatāya suṭṭhu samāhitaṃ ārammaṇe sammadeva ṭhapitaṃ appitaṃ viya hoti. <hi rend="bold">Tikkhatarā</hi>ti anulomañāṇuppattiyā paccayo bhavituṃ samatthabhāvena sātisayaṃ tikkhā sūrā. Saṅkhārānaṃ vicinanepi majjhattabhūta<hi rend="bold">saṅkhārupekkhā</hi> paññā <hi rend="bold">uppajjati. Aniccāti vā…pe… sammasitvā bhavaṅgaṃ otaratī</hi>ti aniccādīsu ekenākārena sammasantī sattakkhattuṃ pavattitvā bhijjantī bhavaṅgaṃ otiṇṇā nāma hoti tato paraṃ bhavaṅgassa vāroti katvā. <hi rend="bold">Saṅkhārupekkhāya katanayenevā</hi>ti aniccādinā ālambanakaraṇanayeneva, na sammasitanayena. Tenāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘ārammaṇaṃ kurumāna’’</hi>nti. <hi rend="bold">Āvaṭṭetvā</hi>ti nivattetvā cittassa bhavaṅgavasena vattituṃ adatvā. Visadisacittapavattisaṅkhātāya vīciyā abhāvena avīcikā, cittasantati. Kiriyamanodhātuyā hi bhavaṅge āvaṭṭite kiriyamayacittapavattivipākacittuppattiyā savīcikā santarā, na evaṃ manodvārāvajjanenāti vuttaṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘avīcikaṃ cittasantatiṃ anuppabandhamāna’’</hi>nti. <hi rend="bold">Tathevā</hi>ti yathā atītāsu dvattiṃsajavanavīthīsu saṅkhārupekkhā ‘‘aniccā’’ti vā ‘‘dukkhā’’ti vā ‘‘anattā’’ti vā saṅkhāre ārammaṇamakāsi, tatheva. <hi rend="bold">Parikammanti vuccati</hi> maggassa parikammattā paṭisaṅkhārakattā <pb ed="V" n="2.0451" />. <hi rend="bold">Upacāranti vuccati</hi> maggassa āsannattā, samīpacārikattā vā. Anulomattaṃ sayameva vadati.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Ayañca nayo kāmaṃ maggavīthiyaṃ paṭhamajavanassa paṭisaṅkharaṇaṭṭho, dutiyassa tato āsannaṭṭho, tatiyassa heṭṭhimuparimānaṃ anulomaṭṭho ca yuttoti vutto, tathāpi sabbesampi imā samaññā sambhavantīti dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘avisesena panā’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. Tattha <hi rend="bold">āsevana</hi>nti ādarena sevanaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Purimabhāgapacchimabhāgāna</hi>nti heṭṭhimānaṃ, uparimānañca dhammakoṭṭhāsānaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Aṭṭhanna</hi>nti udayabbayañāṇādīnaṃ aṭṭhannaṃ. Sabbāpi vipassanā lakkhaṇattayasammasanakiccāva <pb ed="M" n="2.0480" />, idampi tathevāti vuttaṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘tathakiccatāyā’’</hi>ti. <hi rend="bold">Uparī</hi>ti magge. <hi rend="bold">Bodhipakkhiyadhammānaṃ</hi> tathakiccatāya anulometi sammosādipaṭipakkhavidhamanato. Idāni anulomañāṇassa tadubhayakiccānulomaṃ vitthārato dassetuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘tañhī’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. Tattha anulomañāṇaṃ saccapaṭicchādakamohakkhandhādīnaṃ <hi rend="bold">sātisayaṃ</hi> vidhamanena lokiyañāṇesu ukkaṃsapariyantagataṃ, tato eva heṭṭhā nibbattitaudayabbayañāṇādīnampi kiccaṃ paṭipakkhadūrībhāvena atthato sādhentameva hutvā pavattati, tathāpavattamānañca tesaṃ kiccaṃ anulomentaṃ viya hotīti āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘udayabbayavantānaṃ…pe… tathakiccatāya anulometī’’</hi>ti. Tattha <hi rend="bold">‘‘bhayato upaṭṭhita’’</hi>nti imināpi ārammaṇasīsena ñāṇabyāpārameva vadati sappaṭibhayānaṃ saṅkhārānaṃ yathāsabhāvadassanadīpanato. Sesesu pana sattasupi ṭhānesu ñāṇabyāpārova dassito. Yasmā etaṃ anulomañāṇaṃ aniccādīsu aññataralakkhaṇavaseneva saṅkhāre ārabbha pavattati, tasmā vuttaṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘aniccalakkhaṇādivasena saṅkhāre ārabbha pavattattā’’</hi>ti. <hi rend="bold">Tāya paṭipattiyā</hi>ti yā sā anulomañāṇassa thūlathūlasaccapaṭicchādakasaṃkilesavikkhambhanapaṭipatti, tāya. Na hi anulomañāṇe tathā anuppanne gotrabhuñāṇaṃ nibbānaṃ ālambituṃ sakkoti, gotrabhuñāṇe vā anuppanne maggañāṇaṃ uppajjatīti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Vuttamatthaṃ opammena pākaṭataraṃ kātuṃ <hi rend="bold">‘‘yathā hī’’</hi>tiādi vuttaṃ. Tattha aṭṭhannaṃ <hi rend="bold">vohārikamahāmattānaṃ agatigamanaṃ pahāya</hi> taṃtaṃvinicchayakaraṇaṃ viya aṭṭhannaṃ ñāṇānaṃ yathāsakaṃ paṭipakkhaṃ pahāya saṅkhāresu udayabbayādipaṭipatti, rañño majjhattabhāvo viya anulomañāṇassa purimapacchimadhammakoṭṭhāsassa anukūlatā. <hi rend="bold">Tenevā</hi>ti heṭṭhimañāṇānaṃ anulomanamukhena uparibodhipakkhiyānaṃ anulomanatoyeva. <hi rend="bold">Saccānulomikanti vuccati</hi> maggasaccassa anulomikattā.</p>

<p rend="subhead">Vuṭṭhānagāminīvipassanākathāvaṇṇanā</p>

<p rend="bodytext" n="805"><hi rend="paranum">805</hi><hi rend="dot">.</hi> Kiñci <pb ed="M" n="2.0481" /><pb ed="V" n="2.0452" /> asaṅkhatārammaṇampi ñāṇaṃ vuṭṭhānagāminiyā ekasaṅgahanti katvā <hi rend="bold">‘‘saṅkhārārammaṇāyā’’</hi>ti visesanaṃ kataṃ. Tañhi visesato vuṭṭhānaṃ ariyamaggaṃ gacchati upetīti vuṭṭhānagāminīti vattabbataṃ labhati. Tenāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘sabbena sabba’’</hi>ntiādi. <hi rend="bold">Asammohattha</hi>nti tattha tattha sutte pariyāyantarehi āgatāya sammohābhāvatthaṃ. <hi rend="bold">Suttasaṃsandanā</hi>ti suttānaṃ tesaṃ tesaṃ suttapadānaṃ anusandānaṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext">Ye lokiye saṅkhāre ārabbha anulomapariyosānā vuṭṭhānagāminivipassanā pavattati, taṃsannissitā tappaṭibaddhā taṇhā tehi vinā appavattanato tammayā nāma, tammayāva tammayatā, tammayā vā taṇhāsampayuttā khandhā, tesaṃ bhāvo tammayatā, sā eva taṇhā. Tappaṭipakkhā vuṭṭhānagāminivipassanā <hi rend="bold">atammayatā</hi>. Tena vuttaṃ <hi rend="bold">aṭṭhakathāyaṃ</hi> ‘‘tammayatā nāma taṇhā, tassā pariyādiyanato vuṭṭhānagāminivipassanā atammayatāti vuccatī’’ti (ma. ni. aṭṭha. 3.310). <hi rend="bold">Nissāyā</hi>ti taṃ atammayataṃ nissayaṃ katvā, bhāvetvāti attho. <hi rend="bold">Ekattā</hi>ti ettha ayaṃ pāḷi ‘‘atthi, bhikkhave, upekkhā rūpesu…pe… phoṭṭhabbesu, ayaṃ, bhikkhave, upekkhā nānattā nānattasitā’’ti (ma. ni. 3.310), sayampi nānāsabhāvā, nānārammaṇanissitā cāti attho. Sā pana samādhisampayuttā vipassanupekkhā veditabbā. ‘‘Atthi, bhikkhave, upekkhā ākāsānañcāyatananissitā…pe… nevasaññānāsaññāyatananissitā, ayaṃ, bhikkhave, upekkhā ekattā ekattasitā’’ti (ma. ni. 3.310). Yā hi taṃtaṃarūpacittuppādapariyāpannā upekkhā, sā ekasabhāvattā, ekārammaṇattā ca ekattā, ekattasitā cāti vuccati, sā pana taṃtaṃjhānasahagatavedanupekkhā ca tadārammaṇavipassanupekkhā cāti vadanti. <hi rend="bold">Taṃ pajahathā</hi>ti tadārammaṇakilesapahānena pajahatha. Tenāha <hi rend="bold">‘‘taṃ samatikkamathā’’</hi>ti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Nibbidā</hi>ti vuṭṭhānagāminī. Tattha hi sutte <hi rend="bold">virajjatī</hi>ti maggakiccamāha, <hi rend="bold">vimuccatī</hi>ti phalakiccaṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Susimasuttaṃ</hi><pb ed="M" n="2.0482" /><pb ed="V" n="2.0453" /> nidānavagge. Tattha <hi rend="bold">dhammaṭṭhitiñāṇaṃ</hi> vuṭṭhānagāminīti <hi rend="bold">vuttā</hi> dhammaṭṭhitiyaṃ paṭiccasamuppāde asammuyhanavasena pavattanato. <hi rend="bold">Nibbāne ñāṇa</hi>nti maggañāṇamāha.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Saññā kho, poṭṭhapādā</hi>ti ettha kāmaṃ ‘‘saññā’’icceva vuccati, pubbe pana ‘‘saññaggaṃ phusatī’’ti vuttattā āha <hi rend="bold">‘‘saññagganti vuttā’’</hi>ti.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Paṭipadāñāṇadassanavisuddhī</hi>ti tadekadesabhūtā vuṭṭhānagāminī vuttā. Samudāyesu hi pavattā vohārā avayavesupi pavattantīti. <hi rend="bold">Pārisuddhipadhāniyaṅga</hi>nti pārisuddhiyā padhānakāraṇaṃ.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Tīhi nāmehī</hi>ti anulomagotrabhuvodānasaṅkhātehi tīhi nāmehi.</p>

<p rend="bodytext"><hi rend="bold">Kittitā</hi>ti thomitā ariyamaggādhiṭṭhānatāya. Mahantānaṃ sīlakkhandhādīnaṃ esanaṭṭhena <hi rend="bold">mahesinā</hi> sammāsambuddhena. Santakilesatāya <hi rend="bold">santā. Yoga</hi>nti bhāvanaṃ, bhāvanābhiyogaṃ vā.</p>

<p rend="centre">Paṭipadāñāṇadassanavisuddhiniddesavaṇṇanā niṭṭhitā.</p>
